Brand new Prius, no wait

    I've wanted the Prius since they came out, and especially when the new ones came out in 2004. Every time I see them my heart beats faster. I've been saving for years, driving an cranky little old monster, a 1987 Mazda 323.

    It finally broke down with repairs pricier than $200-- the excuse I was waiting for! I needed a new car fast though, and Prius was the ONLY car I wanted. I don't care if somebody gave me a BMW or a Ferrari or whatever... But the waiting lists run for several months.

    So I went on Craigslist... not only can you get plenty of used Priuses... dealers also advertise cancelled orders...I don't know why it doesn't just go to the next person on the list...but I was able to get a brand new, 0-miles, 2006 Silver PKG 7 Prius for MSRP... no waiting list.

    I'm a happy driver now.

    Yeah, I could have had the same thing. For less than MSRP. But noooooo, I have to hold out for a red one. :huh:

    And it's only been three days since I put in my order. This is gonna get bad. :lol:

    I got a red one, but that wasn't my color of choice, I was hoping for a blue, but I didn't care terribly much since I wouldn't see the color much from inside the car :) I got grey interior which is what I really wanted :)

    I've got that beat. I have two Priuses. Bought the first one on a whim in April 2005. Walked into the dealer at 3:00 pm on Saturday, and drove away in a Silver #6 by 6:00 pm.

    My wife's car broke down last December. Walked into the dealer at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 3rd, and drove away with at 4:00 pm in a 2005 Silver #4.

    My father (who lives 400 miles away) decided to buy a Prius in early January. He walked into a dealer one day and drove away a couple of hours later in a Silver 2006.

    From my experience, as long as you will take a silver Prius, there doesn't seem to be any waiting lists. I don't know what every one else is talking about.

    Well, not all of us who have a color other than silver had to wait. Walked in at 9AM, drove out at 12PM in my Driftwood Pearl #3, at MSRP. :rolleyes:
