I believe Wayne has the guy's name that's doing this, and he indicated he'd like to see us there as well. The last time Wayne and I did a show, it was very informative for people, and I thought we helped out a lot.

I'll see what Wayne chimes in with.

I was saving this for discussion for our January Prius meet-up. May 13th at the Route 66 Speedway in Joliet is:

    Midwest AFV Expo

You are cordially invited to participate in the biggest and best Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) event the Midwest has every seen! Sponsored by the Joliet Township High Schools

    When: Saturday, May 13th, 2006
Where: Route 66 Raceway, Joliet, Illinois

    AND ALSO

National Electric Drag Racing Association is sanctioning a new event for 2006, the High Voltage Nationals to be be held May 13 at the Route 66 Dragway in Joliet Illinois. The event is part of the Alternative Fuel Expo organized by the Fox Valley EAA and will also be held in conjunction with the 5th EVer Electric Auto Association Conference.

The NEDRA had participation at the Elgin CC car show which our group was asked to attend. We should contact John Emde for more information at [email protected] since they seem to be one of the creators of these events.

I understand that at least 10 Honda Insights are going to be there, sure would be nice for our Chicago group to flood the Fest with some Prius. And my OEM tires should be worn nicely by then for the MPG contest.

Have we discovered the secret to boosting attendance? Free food?

Alright, who's baking cookies for next Saturday?

Its not the food. Its the cars.

I wouldn't trade my prius for the world, ... and well if theres something out there CHEAPER to be picked up than have it shipped (even for a couple of $$) its worth it.

I have contacted Rich as to what he may want us to do for that day, as far as participation. I'll let you know when we hear more. For newcomers, if it is anything like last time, we will spend time showing a couple of cars, as well as answering questions about the Prius, and disseminating the information that Wayne has (if you haven't seen his packets, he's got quite a collection.)

As well, we can hang out, talk, see what else is around (electric drag racing has to be interesting.) And hopefully, being an exclusive alternative fuel vehicle show, we will not be stuck behind a Hummer. Oh, the irony!

Being I just got my car yesterday, is there any update on this, or anything I need to know if I decide to show up, not sure I can at this point.
