QUESTION - what are Hub-Centric rings?

I know they are to take up the space between the gap from the hub to the wheel.

But, do I/We need it on the Prius?

I swapped over a set of wheels from another vehicle and the tech at Americas tire suggested I put them on.

They are only $15.....so I may just do it.

When I put the wheels on the lugs, there didn't seem to be any play on the lugs.

I "do not" know about the Prius, but I do know the wheels on all the generations of the Toyota 4Runner are LUG centric. Way back when, we 4runner owners went through a whole big thing about balance shops using adapters to balance tires or use specific types of balancing machines due to lug centric wheels. Alexma, I'm sorry I can't answer your original question.

PS, as time went by most of the good balance shops had adapters for their machines that made this a non-issue.

I ended up putting on the rings.

They are made of plastic, not sure what they would do as far as support.

They look like they are more of a spacer than anything else.

    So far so good!

Prius is hub-centric. There is a flange on the hub the rims sit on (or should). My winter rims (from corolla) do not sit on the flange.

I'm pretty sure I asked this question but I can't seem to find the post. What is the hub size for the 2010 Prius?
