I literally just took it off the vinyl. I got tired of caring for it lol.

I made sure the rate wouldn't go up. It was the first question that I asked. They said because the damage was completely out of my control and that it happened at home it will be going though my non comprehensive. No rate increase :)

Hahaha. I have the reason to upgrade since the hood has 2 dints from hail 2 years ago. The shop estimated around $300 to bend it.

So, I have a crazy idea. I think I'm gonna get the TRD springs and get the 17" OEM wheels for my Gen3. I'm really wanting it to ride a bit stiffer and the wheels a bit bigger.

Has anyone attempted this and/or has any recommendations?

Not so crazy of an idea compared to the rest of the guys on here running bags, coilovers, camber plates, etc. You'll be fine with that set up, and that wheel gap will shrink.

I do a lot of city driving, so I was wondering if you think I should be worried about my under-carriage/fenders with that setup? Would it be worth saving for the bags?

Thanks for the quick response by the way! May be a few months before I can do it but I definitely want something stiffer but not necessarily lower.

I think I'm trying to go with the more OEM Persona look more than anything. Looks pretty sick to me. :) I already have that color. No reason it shouldn't be a Persona!

The TRD springs aren't low enough of a drop for you to be scraping anything. Take a look at the other threads on this forum for ideas, like the Gen 3 Afternarket Wheels thread, or the specific builds everyone's posted. It's helped me get a general idea of mods for my ride.

Thanks for the recommendation man! I'll check it out.

However, you shouldn't of said that. I'm waiting to hit the checkout button. :D

Ouch. Don't think that'll be happening.

Being a student will make you think twice about a set of bags for my pri. It was a good idea! Lol!

Why didn't you buy the Persona RED in the first place? To get 17", softex and the side mirrors + heat seat it would cost you more then the Persona already not counting TRD you're thinking of putting on. Kinda too late now.

There were no dealers in my area that had a Persona series or I totally would've bought it. It was more of needing a car right away then having to search in a different state so I didn't get it. Plus I got a good deal on my three!

With Modifying my current Pri, I can do little by little until I get there :) Seat covers aren't too bad and I don't think I'll miss heated seats, I'm not used to having them. Now the side mirrors I've thought about as well as the auto-dimming rear-view, which would be extremely handy. I've seen those done on other forums and they're on my list to do!

I'll be keeping y'all posted on my progress, but Wheels and Springs come first.

One more year until I'm finished with college. Then I'll be looking at a Tesla for fun :D

Where did you get the original part? I just got the one from the Prius chat shop. :(

I got it from Amazon. Here is the link. The one from Prius chat is really cheaply made. Very disappointed in that one. I thought it was made from Plexiglass but was cheap plastic. Don't let the picture fool you on there.

I have 17" wheels with the TRD springs.

The 17" wheels don't make any significant difference with ride hight because the overall tire diameter w/ 215/45-17 is just about the same. But the drop with the TRD springs is about 1.5" to 2". I find that I will have front tire rubbing on hard U turns, and that's it. (I probably shouldn't be making hard U turns anyway.) As for speed bumps, it's generally no problem at all -- unless there is a passenger in the car.
