I'm currently in the process of replacing the passenger side turn signal assembly on my 2013 Prius Persona. I've got the front bumper completely off and have access to the entire housing. However, I do not know how to "unclip" the existing one and so am unable to install the new part that I have.

Just so there's no confusion, here's an image of the entire housing that I'm attempting to remove:

The top and bottom of this turn signal assembly have a black plastic clip that I'm assuming is attached to the bumper but somehow the housing needs to be detached from it. Here is an image of the top -- I've already removed a screw and grommet clip.

Also, here's an image of a part of the housing I was able to remove. I'm unable to remove the electrical plug from it though so I've currently just put that to the side but will need to get this detached as well.

I'm definitely a first timer so please bear with me. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information or images.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I found out a bit more information. In the image below I need help removing the entire housing (part #1) from the black clips on the top (part #2) and the bottom (part #3).

It seems to be a simple thing but I don't know the trick to it and don't want to break those black clips.

I don't have any experience with the 2012+, but with Toyota fasteners and clips, you sometimes have to release a tab or clip by pushing into a hole or slot with a small screwdriver, or similar, tool. While pushing, or prying gently, with the tool, apply firm force in the direction of disassembly. hope this helps

@xliderider thanks for the input, it did help. I thought for sure I was going to break the clip as it required a good amount of force but just kept pulling to slide the clip off and sure enough it did without cracking

    Thanks again for your tip!

I do have one more question. When I removed the front bumper the passenger side near the turn signal lamp at the very bottom has a very small crack. Probably about 1/2" in length. Is there anything I can put on it (some sort of glue, epoxy, etc) that might help it from spreading?

I've had good success using those epoxy putty type products, the kind where you mix the two different colored clays together. Then slap some on the back of the crack, and overlap length and width onto good strong surrounding areas.
