I also have the USB DVR camera.
I did not install a review camera 'cause of too much labor. Right now, I am replacing the door speakers, relatively easy with adapters/plug n play connectors form Crutchfield.
I can't find a plug n play connector for the dash speakers.

I just bought an aftermarket one that retrofits right into the OEM slot, I would post the link, but I haven't reached my posting limit apparently. Search Ebay for this and it should pop up: "
CCD Color Car Rear View Reverse Parking Safety Kits Camera for TOYOTA Prius 2012"

Update: Here is the link: CCD Color Car Rear View Reverse Parking Safety Kits Camera for Toyota Prius 2012 | eBay

Has anyone used the HERE maps app on this unit yet? Also, what are some must have apps people are using?

    Hi Guys,

I'm looking to get one of these in my Prius but have a few questions first.

Does the reverse camera automatically open when reversing?
What is the startup time of this unit?
Can i use my existing GPS antenna from my OEM unit?
Can I use the existing mic for handsfree calls?

I think you are missing a harness.

Looking for answer to this as well, the start-up time and quality for calls mean a lot to me.

Call quality has been very good, I used the supplied aftermarket mic that came with the unit and stuck it by the start button. Am thinking of replacing the OEM mic up by the map lights with the aftermarket one. You could use the OEM mic, but you would have to hack up the wiring harness and solder on a 3pin headphone jack conversion piece or replace the wire in the harness that is supplied. Boot up time is 15 to 20 seconds max, mine is currently a little longer because I am using Malaysk's custom ROM from XDA and have a bunch of apps load at startup; my startup time is right around 25-30 seconds. Again, the unit is supplied with a GPS antenna and it will likely be easier to use the supplied one than the OEM as it is unlikely the OEM unit uses the standard screw in pin the aftermarket unit uses.

I chose to just use all of the aftermarket supplied harnesses to make life the easiest and have it all work out of the box. Additionally, if I want to put the OEM unit back in I just have to now unplug the aftermarket unit and then plug the OEM back in.

I haven't had time to hook up my backup camera yet, but I would assume it will activate when you put the car in reverse, this is how it is coded in the MCU firmeware to work; this can be answered better by someone who has one installed the camera already.

Ok...I'm a bit confused. I see 2 models. One from Pumpkin and one from Pure. They both look the same to me. Any comments on which one is "better" and why?

FWIW, the most up to date model I've seen (most recent Kit Kat, highest resolution screen, and fastest processor) is this one from Yinuo, which comes in the lighter dashboard color that better matches the 2012-2015 models. Not sure how well it matches; they don't have any photos of it installed and I couldn't find it on AliExpress either. There's one review but he doesn't mention finish quality.

Anyway, the forum doesn't allow n00bs to post links, but you can find it on Amazon (with Prime!) if you search for the ASIN: B010UZWBWE

Hi! Thank you for sharing. I've also installed the system on my 2010 Prius, but I was unable to connect the oem radio antenna. How did you manage to do that ? Thanks!

Pumpkin and PURE are merely resellers. While I am not positive because I have never dealt with these companies, but it would be likely you would get a very similar unit from each of them. The main manufacturers of the units are KLYDE, HueFei, Roadmaster, JY (joying) and from here there are a bunch of resellers. The one I purchased from the link in this thread was a KLYDE unit.

Hello everybody, I'm still struggling a little bit with my Pumpkin stereo/nav system. I managed to connect the GPS antenna included in the package (it's installed just behind the stereo, on the left rear, under the dashboard, and the reception is fine), but I still have many original wires unplugged. May someone tell me what they are ? Thanks!!

Not sure of these plugs. If everything works, ignore the extra connectors, e.g. Amp, Subwoofer, Connection for rear seat dvd, etc..

I also have a 2011 Prius: '11 Toyota Prius Two with Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat Head unit Upgrade! | PriusChat

    Thank you Sergio :)

My opinion is that n°1 is the radio antenna and n°4 is the gps antenna, whereas the three other (the two grey and the blue) are the rear camera, the head-up display and something else (maybe the speed information for the navigation ?). I would mainly be interested in identifying the rear camera cable...

Question for users that have this radio and use the Spotify app.

Are or have any of you had problems with downloaded music not showing up in spotify, but being shown on the SD Card?

I have concerns regarding the boot up time. I don't want to sit in my driveway waiting for this unit to boot up before reversing out. Does the reverse camera display before the HU boots up? Not sure how it could but I recall someone mentioning that it did.

Those with reverse cameras functioning, can you confirm? Do I have to wait for the Head Unit to fully boot up before reversing??

On my 2008 I have a Kenwood DDX418 w/reverse camera.. It doesn't function until the Kenwood has booted up.
