Newbie here....just wanted to say hi! I inquired about a green or silver #7 Prius at Longo Toyota and Buena Park Toyota. Longo stated that it would be about 4 weeks and Buena Park said that they have a silver #7 at the dock. My sales person e-mailed me today saying that the trucking company has 72 hours from today to deliver, so anytime now!!! It's been six days now and I will be paying MSRP. Hard to find anything below sticker in this area.

When I mentioned that I had carpool envy, here's what she said. "We can expedite your plates, the application for the sticker still needs to be sent to Sacramento. It does cut down the time because it typically take 6-8 weeks to receive your plates. We can do it in 10 days or less." So, hopefully I will get them fast.

I received an email from Huntington Beach Toyota saying that they have two #8 white, one with bisque and one with gray and to act quickly if I wanted one. Sounds like there is added dealer stuff on them, but not sure. So, if anybody is interested, they had two today.

That's fantastic news! Hopefully all will go well and I'll soon have another neighbor with a Prius. :D

Oh, yes. And welcome to PC! :)

I'm still waiting for the delivery truck... Wouldn't you know it! The salesperson says that this has only happened one other time that she knows of where the truck did not deliver within the 72 hours contracted. The dealer will get the delivery for free. Tomorrow will be 72 hours. Shouldn't I get a discount for them not having to pay for the delivery and the pain and suffering that I'm going through with Prius envy? :(

Try waiting a couple of months like everyone else, then see how much Prius envy you have. LOL.

    oh!!

I finally got her! When I got the 'your Prius is on the truck' phone call, I got so darn excited! I went and picked her up yesterday. I haven't even had her 24 hours yet, and I'm definitely in love. BLACK Pkg #3, I named her Neko (that's Kitty in English). She got 49.2 MPG on the 25 mile commute to work this morning! Ahhh... I tell you it was WORTH the 6 month wait... yes, it took that long. I gained some character riding public transportation, but let me tell you today was a whole new day for Neko and I.

    : )

Hi FIVES to all of us for saving the planet in style.

On an added note, if you can track letters and packages via the Postal Service, and watch where planes are while they're in route... we should be able to visually see where the Prii are... 'on the truck' doesn't satisfy the hunger and desire for what is to come. If I had a website I could click on and stare at for 72 hours and see the Pre-Life of owning my new baby, I would have never left the screen.

Congrats, tarafina! Six months? Wow. But sounds like you're enjoying it.

Are you female? If so, there's an informal "chicks who drive black Priuses" club here. I believe galaxee is at least a co-chair...or is it tracysbeans?

I won't go any farther, since you may be a guy.

I picked up the car this evening. There actually was a car for me on the mysterious missing delivery truck. Don't know why it took so long, but it's here! And, they are fun to drive! 9 days wasn't such a bad wait after all!
