If you owns 2015 Prius c, what is your VIN badge (top-right-corner) shows? VIN badge is located on the driver's side doorjamb.

IIHS Top Safety Picks by year on '2015 Toyota Prius c (Applies only to vehicles built after May 2015.)"

So not all 2015 models are top safety pick, only if your VIN badge shows 06/15 or later, rated Front Overlap - Small - [A]cceptable). Older 05/15 or older, rated [P]oor.

More detail go to IIHS org website > select Ratings menu > Make: Toyota > Model: Prius c 4-door hatchback, to view the results for 2015 Prius c.

When I owned my Lemon 2013 Altima the same thing happened - I had an early car without the good safety rating, and a few months later they did a revision that had a better safety rating. Most people said nothing changed, but then the new Altima guys realized their weathertech mats weren't fitting the passenger side. Turns out there is an added hump there (structural everyone assumed)......

^ thanks for taking time to comment.

What IIHS stated the improvement was on "the front-end and occupant compartment structure was modified and the side curtain airbags were lengthened to improve occupant protection in small overlap frontal crashes."

Despite top safety pick or not, I enjoys driving this car, which is also my first minicar.
