Does anybody know if it is possible to have the Prius read multiple genre tags for mp3 files?

I have many songs on my mp3 usb drive that I would like to tag with more than one genre; maybe both Rock, and Classic Rock, or both Folk-Rock and Rock.
That way I can listen to those song by picking either of the two genres.

Music players on my PC can handle multiple genre tags if I use the format: "Classic Rock; Rock". A song tagged this way would appear in the Classic Rock list as well as the Rock list.

The Prius audio system doesn't seem to handle multiple tags this way.

Has anybody had success with multiple genre tags?

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

I wasn't aware that it paid any attention to genre tags at all. At least mine doesn't.

With the Audio screen displayed, press the Browse button. You should see Genres as an option. You can then select a genre based on the mp3 Genre tag.

Perhaps not all of the Prius radios have this option?

I have the 7" JBL system. I can browse by folder, artist or album tags, but not for genre. Genre tags are not displayed at all.

I suppose I'd try having the multiple tags separated by a space, no comma, or with a comma but no space, or with a comma and space.
You never know what a device might accept.

    Thanks
I'll try some different configurations and see what happens.

I've tried a number of different ways to enter two genre tags such as:
    folk, rock
    Folk,Rock
    Folk Rock
    Folk; Rock
    etc
They all appear as above, not just "folk" or "rock".
I guess this system just doesn't recognize multiple tags.
