My husband and I both recently bought our cars and his has already suffered scratches on the bumper from parking in Brooklyn. He got us BumpShox for the front and installed them yesterday. Here are some pics of mine. He went with the biggest one (its always all or nothing with him).

They look nice and I would do the same to save the front from others.

Interesting. I've never seen those before. Where do you get them and roughly how much do they cost?

Actually, what I really need is something for under/behind the driver side door handle. Hubby likes to open the door with the keys in his hand and it's already horribly scratched up.

There are three different sizes of the bumpshox, this is the fattest profile. It was $59 for 2, plus $10 shipping. They're in Long Island so they shipped super fast to NJ. www.bumpshox.com

I'm glad I don't live and drive in an environment where that product is really needed.

I mean, I think obviously you have to balance "bumper damage" vs. "how the bumpshox looks" and if I lived in Brooklyn and parked and drove where damage was almost constantly inevitable? I might buy and use that product.

    But...in all honesty...that's ugly..really ugly...not as ugly as bumper damage...but close.

Really? Eye of the beholder, I guess. I don't think it looks bad at all, kinda cool even. Now the shark fin antennae, that's something I find unattractive which most others seem to like.

Looks to me like you should be attaching a hose and vacuuming something up...

But hey, I don't do a lot of urban city parking (thank god) and I would surely consider the product, infact probably use it, if I did....I just can't go so far as to say "It looks good".

Everyone has their own opinion. Just like I think the regular Prius is pretty ugly.
If it wasn't for the C, I would not be a member of the Prius Family.

I have to agree about the regular Prius being ugly. I wouldn't be in the fam either... I bet the bumpshox will look better when you attach your license plate to it.

I ordered the 2.0 Bumpshox (smallest one) and have a I have a black C2. With a black car, the bumpshox doesn't stand out as much and sorta blends in with the car. Wish I was able to use all four screws to mount on the plate/bumpshox. Also wish I ordered the larger 3.0 or XL version, as the 2.0 does not stick out that much further than the splitter along the bottom of the bumper. My black car is now white with salt...will share a picture once weather gets better

Interesting comments but think they look kind of bulky/ugly. My neighbor has a bumper protector much better looking and sleek and it is made from solid steel. It is called 4Bumpers and can be purchased at their website. She has the Prime model and said it worked great but I decided to purchase the Duo model-it is lower profile than the Prime and sticks out approximately 2-inches (so even more than the foam protector mentioned in the other comments. Has been on mine for quite a while and works great. Installed easily in under 1-minute, imatches the car nicely (see photo) and I get positive comments from people who notice it. IMG_2121.jpg
