    Hi All

As a new owner I was looking for a few things...

    (1) is there a mute button for the stereo?

    (2) is there an aux input for the standard stereo?

    (3) When you get a new map dvd where do you insert it?

    (4) Does anyone use the maintenance trakcing feature?

Thanks all - have a good night!

    Lani

Unfortunately, no. But you can press the [Power] button or hold the [MODE] button on the steering wheel. Both will kill the stereo. Additionally, if the car has Bluetooth phone connectivity, the stereo automatically mutes during phone sessions.

    The '06 has iPod input

The dealer takes care of that for you. They usually take the old one and replace it with the new one.

Someone else can field this one.

Just to clarify, it isn't something that's specific to iPod. It's just a standard 1/8" headphone jack that works for AUX input. You can plug in the iPod to it, but you'll have to buy a new piece of equipment if you want to us the steering wheel controls to control the iPod or to get the song information on the MFD.

    Thanks, B.
My '04 doesn't have the AUX-IN so I'm trying to go off what others are saying. Thanks for clarifying.

To add one more thing, if it hasn't moved in the 2006, the location of the NAV system is under the driver's seat. The dealer would normally take care of that, but if you decided to do that yourself, that's where to look.

True story now that aaf mentions the location of the NAV DVD.
I "got ahold of" the newest NAV DVD and was looking to replace the one I have. Everyone kept telling me to just remove the plastic cover and then press the eject button. Piece of cake, right? Well, I couldn't even get the plasitc cover off. I tried, had a coworker try, nothing was working.

At the last Chicago meetup, I told the guys, "while you're here, help me with this." As I moved the passenger seat, Wayne looked at me and said, "are you talking about the NAV or your equalizer because your NAV DVD is under the driver's seat."

That whole time I'd been trying to get the cover off the equalizer. Makes me wonder what I'd have thought when I was looking for that elusive 'eject' button. :D

Life is about making mistakes and learning from them.

I think I said "amplifier" not "equalizer", but the result is the same.

On the 2006, the NAV DVD is under the driver's seat. The AUX IN is in the armrest compartment between the driver's and front passenger's seats. There is also a 12VDC jack in that compartment.

The maintenance feature is documented in the owner's manual.

I'll be the one to proclaim my ignorance...what is this maintenance feature? And where is it documented in the manual? I've got it right here (good reading, ya know?) and can't find anything about it there...

Which one, the dashboard light or the MFD programmable reminders that are included with the NAV system?

What I was wondering if anyone actually used this feature - or whether it was too much hassle.

Well I have a PDA and a Computer as well as a Nurse and a Receptionist to keep me in line. I don't really need my car to do the same. I would guess it you did not have a PDA of some sort you may want to do this in your car, otherwise leve it alone. The car will nag you when you need an oil chnge!

It is actually quite easy to program, but thus far each time I have gotten the car serviced it was a few miles ahead of the alert setting (most recently by six miles).
