I have a Haynes Repair manual but can't find in information on the absolute manifold pressure sensor. What other name might it be called? Any thoughts?

Just remove the air cleaner housing and look for a sensor mounted to the intake manifold.

Does your manual have a block diagram which shows the engine ECU and the sensors connected to it?

    Question for you guys.

I have a 2010 with over 200k I am getting the same code.

I took out the EGR, the tube and the intake manifold and am still getting the same code.

What would be next to check?

Tech stream is saying egr flow insufficiency. Min 0.99 max 655.35 test value is 0.48

So this means my egr is working but there is a clog someplace else?

Thanks for the help not trying to jack the thread

Here are some pictures so people can see what these egr look like after 200k

    Thanks!

Maybe there is another way, but I disconnected the 12 volt battery to reset the codes. I had a couple of mechanics say that they reset the error codes with their scan device. But my error codes kept coming back. I didn't know what else to do either. So decided to disconnected the 12 volt, let the computer reset itself, then connected it back. No more error codes.

Just wanted to let everyone know Toyota sent me a warranty extension for my 2010 prius with 160k miles on it. They covered the cost of replacing the EGR Valve and now they are saying the EGR cooler is throwing a new error. You may get them to repay you for what you spent on the EGR valve. Good luck!

I had the P0401 error code at 200k miles. Had my EGR cleaned, still got the P0401. Intake manifold was replaced, still got P0401. Replaced EGR with expensive new one, still got P0401. Factory service said theat I needed to replace 2 sensors that were malfunctioning for $3000 or just live with the service engine light. So I did live with it. At 320k miles, the engine was missing, especially when it was cold. I took the 2011 Prius in for repair. They replaced the EGR Pipe Sub Assembly. after the repair, the check engine light came on with the same code. P0401. I canceled the code and it has not come back on since. The car is now getting 47-51MPG and running like a new vehicle for the last 15k miles. I hope this helps some of you. If I would have had the EGR Pipe Sub Assembly replaced when I had the EGR cleaned, I wuold have saved all that grief for the last 100k miles.

Sounds like they replaced one (expensive) component, left the rest filthy and clogged? Knowing dealership service, doubly so.

There's really no need to replace anything. If you clean everything along the egr path, all the way from the exhaust to the intake ports, that should resolve it.
