So this would be an econo-hybrid? Makes sense. If they can keep the price around 15k then I can see these selling in abundance.

I can't see how it will be under $15K when the sport MSRP's are....

    $15,170.00 + $550 dest chg
    Manual Transmission

    $15,970.00 + $550 dest chg
    Automatic Transmission

I know the Hybrid will include alloy wheels.

If they sell Fit Hybrid for 15k-16k, who is going to buy the Insight for 20k?

Good question. Though I think there will still be a market for the small Insight, similar to the CRX. Some people will want to have the ultimate econocar. Just specualting here, but Honda could surprise us with an updated Insight with newer technology and batteries that greatly exceed the current model's performance.

I wonder are they planning on replacing the Insite with the Hybrid Fit...

That's my guess. I heard that the Insight was never profitable due to the aluminum frame. It was rushed to market to beat Toyota for the first hybrid in America and quite a bit of its fuel efficiency was based on the aluminum frame, creating a light car on highways.

Even though I'm somewhat disillusioned with IMA, I have to admit this would be an awesome car. I've heard great things about the Fit and its interior layout is cool, so a hybrid version would be good. Of course it won't be as efficient as an Insight since the Insight weighs 1700 lbs and the non-hybrid Fit weighs 2400, so a hybrid Fit probably will weight 2600.

I'm not a big fan of IMA either. But the Fit is cool. It'll be even cooler if Toyota made the Hybrid version of it. ;)

My understanding is Honda is doing away with the insight & replacing it with another ie. the fit possibly as per post #1.

IMA doesnt impress me either, it would be cool if they came out with a similar set-up as the prius...
I would rather buy a SMART they look futuristic and have a good crash rating for a commuter car.
    Most models come with a 700cc (50 mpg or 21.3 km/L) & a turbodiesel engine has 800 cc 69 mpg or 29.4 km/L) 69 mpg is very impresive..
