A short blip on the morning TV news about gas prices and how to increase yours by using higher tire air pressure and other tips and tricks.

Immediately after that segment was a report showing many Prii zooming about.
Recent Toyota Prius sales are down but only due to manufacturing delays." Demand remains very strong and dealers are reporting it as "Higher than normal.".

Unfortunately, they didn't say why the delays were being experienced, nor when the delays would end.

Earlier this year, Toyota stated Prius production would be temporarily reduced to better accommodate the introduction of Camry-Hybrid.

So this nonsense about a demand change is pure fiction... mostly based on poor (or no) research. But unfortunately, there is evidence emerging already that some of the anti-hybrid are taking advantage of the misleading monthly data to make it seem as though demand is falling.

    John,
I think most of us know these things already. Mostly from your efforts here and on your site, which is why I decided to post a news report that was showing a positive note for Prius and not using the recent sales slump to make those negative connotations that we're used to.
I believe the news media is starting to see the revolution (that you started) and now has no choice but to start reporting the things that are the truth since there are so many people showing interest in hybrids.

I think, also, that there are a number of people who would have otherwise purchased a Prius who are, instead, waiting for the Camry Hybrid. And those people will not be reflected in any statistical analysis. When we start seeing the same 6 month to 1 year waits for that car that we did with the '04 Prius the press will have to acknowledge the demand.

*scratches head* What are you complaining about again? It says demand remains very strong. What did I miss?

No complaints from me. Are you wondering what John is talking about? I tried to clarify for him in my follow up post.
I was just *surprised* to hear a news report that wasn't slanderous and wanted to share it since most of the chatter her is about news reports that are anti-hybrid.

It was hit and miss finding a Prius in MD. One day the had one the next they did'nt. I was cruising dealer lots for a red or black one (lol). Then one saturday last month Sweetie and me were getting ready to check a dealer 40 minutes out and shazam a red one right on the dealer lot down the street. Sold...I almost can't wait to fill out the marketing form to let Toyota what I think of those bums.
