So I found my Blue Prius by calling around. The salesman said that a deal had fallen through and that if I came down to the dealership right away he would sell me the car. He refused to hold it under any circumstances. Suffice to say that I think the car is amazing (have no pictures yet). I really love being stopped in traffic now and watching the other cars idle as my car seemingly is asleep. Plus my first taken of gas=47 mph. (Southern California trip to San Diego)

I applied for an HOV sticker after reading the threads here. I received a response from the DMV that I should reapply once I receive my California license plates and registration. I thought I had remembered reading here that the DMV only needed the proof of purchase from the dealership? I've found that new plates can take several months.

Anyway to expedite the HOV stickers ? :)

Sorry, I don't have an answer on your HOV sticker, but...

    Congratulations! Welcome to PC!

Nope, you need to have the car registered to get your plate #. The plate # is required on the HOV sticker application.

How and when to apply for the California Clean Air Vehicle stickers is not an easy question. I guess you missed this thread. It is up to 15 pages now; I suggest reading only the most recent 5 or 6 pages.

You do not need to have the plates; you need only the plate number (if that). There are several ways to get the plate number.
