I just realized that there is a Compact Disc in the Prius CD player (stock factory unit).

Any magical way to get it to spit out?

BTW, I've tried a few different things, such trying to pry it up, grab with tweezers, etc.

And, I've read the Aug. thread that suggested disconnecting the battery. Last time I did that the sparking scared the **** out of me, so, I will try that if I have to, but if anyone has another suggestion, such as a secret button like on my computer....

Pulled fuse out in the engine compartment block (#45). Seemed to do it. Thanks.

What happens when you remove the fuse. Does it just reset the thing's "brain" or something and make it eject it when power is re-applied? Or do you still need to try to somehow manually remove it once the power is disconnected?

The main 120 amp line and the 5 amp line that comes off the 12 volt battery are on quick disconnect clips right off the positive post assy.

Pry off the red plastic cover on the positive terminal of the 12 volt battery and you'll see the big wire goes to a white plug. Press the clip lever and pull and it comes right out. Same with the smaller cable. Done this many times. Then the battery is disconnected from the car and you can remove the neg cable and battery with no sparks.

I found disconnecting the negative battery cable at the body, while more accessible, caused a bit of commotion/sparking, whereas disconnecting the clamp right at the post there was little or no sparking.

They gave you those plugs for a reason. So you don't have to bring any tools into play to take the battery out of circuit.

That seems (reset the "brain") pretty close. Somehow the player "thinks" the disk is stuck and won't reject it. Once you reset the player, it no longer "remembers" that the disk is "stuck" and will simply go through the motions to reject it.
