I would have guessed that you would use your spare change as conductors for your EV-centric lifestyle :)

My salesman let me keep the ashtray from my previous Corolla since that's where I kept spare change already. I need it for parking meters. The pennies go in the tray in the center console until I get 'round to dumping them in to the big change jar in the house.

I have one of those coin organizers. It holds quarters, nickles and dimes. I use a product called PolyLock on the back side of the organizer. It is an industrial strength velco. The same PolyLock is used on the dash. The organizer is then attached to the dash for easy access to my left hand which then allows me to get the change I need for those tolls.

Quarters for parking meters? Given where I live, I honestly forget that some people with Prii have to pay at parking meters. . . :p

I bought a spring loaded coin holder. It sits loose in the armrest console, so I can take it with me if I bring my car to a carwash or valet parking.

I have found that at least 50% of carwashes will steal loose change, so I wouldn't suggest keeping yours out in the open (even inside a console or glove compartment).

In a Ziploc® bag in the drawer underneath the center console. I find that easier to access when pulling up to tollbooths than opening up the center console.

I don't like the rattle when in the center consoles..
I like the door rest holes.... its easy to get at, hidden from the casual looker, and can hold enough to matter if you need a few bucks.

I keep loose change either in my jacket pocket or in my wallet if I'm not wearing a jacket. I'm leery of keeping it in the center console tray because I can just see me slamming on the brakes sometime in the future, and the tray get upturned within the confines of the console, and its contents going everywhere in there.

Why don't you put your change in that pull out drawer on the bottom front of the center divide? where the two sides meet on the carpet? I'm unsure exactly what that is for actually, but it is big enough that it could hold a whole lot of change!

I use that drawer to hold a square box of Kleenex. So far, I like the Altoid can suggestion. If a coin organizer will fit in the same spot, I would get that in lieu of the altoid can.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

My last car (Camry, 00) had a nice coin holder built into the dash, down around the trunk release. Given how well thought out storage is on the Prius, I'm surprised Toyota did not include....Does anyone know if there is a technical reason for this (needed every square for wires/whatever)?
