I believe the buttons are all connected together, with differing resistance values used to differentiate the individual buttons. Assuming this is correct, I suspect the problem is in the steering wheel. They aggressively cycling all of the buttons a number of times to see if anything loosens up.

Sounds like a dealer service issue.

I have the same issue except my buttons now don't work at all. I was wondering if anyone had any success in fixing this issue and what it is likely to be. Could it be the clockspring? I'm thinking the clockspring may be the common link. At first the issue was intermittent, now constant. Any thoughts from the technically minded or experienced would be appreciated.

Likely it is a faulty clockspring. Keep some button pressed and turn the steering wheel around. If button works at some point then it has to be faulty clockspring (or connectors on it (unlikely)).
