I wanted a better visual angle where I could easily monitor my Scangauge II information whilst driving, especially coolant and HV battery temps as I have installed a lower grill block with movable shutters. So I constructed a DIY dash mount for the Scangauge from a wedge of wood. I sanded the back to have a concave surface that would perfectly match the concave surface of the dashboard just in front of the steering wheel, and have affixed it with double-sided foam tape. The viewing angle is through the upper half-moon gap in the Prius steering wheel, partly so that the DW who is shorter will also be able to see the Scangauge info with no interference.
I will paint the wood to match the matte black of the dash, but the photograph with the raw wood has better contrast and thus better shows the installation. DSCN5425.JPG
    Cheers!

I was definitively leaning to black. I wish the Gorilla Guard locks came in black to match though. While I'll probably go with McGard nuts, I don't like their lock design. I have read too many bad reports on the McGard lock of the tool breaking and their being real easy to defeat.

    Thanks, your picture inspired me!

I don't hear much about it around me either and I tend to stay in "safer" parts of town. I'm just a bit paranoid, as we do have a lot of petty theft to support a large heroin epidemic among other things.

Hey man been meaning to ask. Did you just grab the paint at an automotive store or where can I pick it up other then online if you know? These turned out great been meaning to change up my tails this could be a cheap nice alternative. And one last question how long will these hold up you think? Do they fade quickly?

I picked up the VHT at O'reily Auto Parts (formerly Kragens). Be sure to put a few coats of clear on them and then wax them regularly. Only time will tell how long they will last but even if they need to be redone once a year it's a fun Saturday project.Good luck and be sure to post pictures.

Post up when you do. Are those Prius Four seats? We need confirmation that it can be done.

Are the CT200h seats a plug and play mod for both front and rear?

I made a mirror mount and routed the wire up through the dashboard/A-pillar/headliner. I don't like the steering wheel spokes getting in the way during turns, or something that looks out of place stuck to the dash. JMHO:

Fresh off the plane (vs boat) from Thailand and hopped right back into mod-mode yesterday!! :ROFLMAO:

Hooked up with fellow pri-chat buddy saulbassfan in Gardena for lunch and he was kind enough to order me the Kenstyle shims for the rear bumper so I can delete that annoying gap. Will post pics when that gets done. Thank You Rob!! (y)

Also, upon wheels down at LAX my first call was to the famous fender rolling Tony in the Valley who set me up to come by and get my rears shaved, and my fronts pulled to make room for the modified wheels & rubber I added pre-trip.

A few shots of Tony in action below as well. Plenty of room for coilovers or air suspension should I choose to drop further than the TEIN springs on there now.

Finally, I finished the day at Firestone and took advantage of my Lifetime wheel alignment service to dial everything in officially.

Great day of modding for the books, more to come this week!!

Didn't take any before and after photos but did my tails today first "mod" in a really long time actually lol feels good to see something different on the car. Well you all know what they look like before hand. Here's after. The clear coat isn't cured so it's not exactly the glossy finish yet that it should have tomorrow. This gives the car a much more aggressive back end look and feel in my opinion! I love it! Best $20 I've spent in a while. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg
