    Hey members,

My 2010 was black and my 2012 was winter grey. After owning both, they look great when clean but both vehicles attracted a lot of heat in the summer months. This is where some of you owners come into play.

I'm trying to decide between the classic silver metallic and the blizzard pearl. I've always admired the blizzard pearl so I'm leaning in that direction. For those of you who have owned these colors, if you had to do it all over again would you have made the same decision and/or would you buy the same color in a Gen 4?

    Thanks!

I would buy another silver--unless the are charging for the paint. Silver will hide grime.

I just bought a Blizzard Pearl PiP, which has always been my favorite color on the Prius. Very happy with it! Although, the Silver is nice, too. But I'm happy with the white... I'd look for the best deal with either of those colors (which is what I did)...

White and silver were the two color choices I narrowed it down to. As you can see from my pic I ended up with silver. It's been awesome at hiding the dirt. Looks pretty clean most the time. I do give it a weekly bath though. ;-)
I'm sure you'll be happy with either color.

Thanks for sharing your info. I don't think I can go wrong with either, I'm not a fan of white vehicles but something about that pearl looks gorgeous. For me, It may come down to price, availability, and interior color combos.

I'm very happy with the Silver with the grey interior. It's visible in poor light, hides dirt, helps keep the car cool in hot sun, looks good, comes at no extra cost, and is much less likely than some colors to look out of date as fashions change.

White (Blizzard Pearl) has the same advantages but doesn't hide dirt as well and costs extra.

I didn't realize the BP costs more money. Any idea how much?

Ok, that's not too bad as I was expecting $800.

Yeah, Blizzard Pearl is a 3 coat paint. There's the white paint and then the pearlescent coat then the clearcoat. I suspect the new Hypersonic Red will be an extra cost colour too. Based on the Tokyo Motor Show press release booklet, it's a 3-coat paint too.

The Edmunds.com "Build and Price" service is not showing additional cost for any of the exterior paint colors. Perhaps an oversight on their part?

On gen 3, when new, it is $395 additional charge.

If you leased, the monthly payment went up to account for the additional charge.

In photos and videos, I think the Classic Silver Color makes the 2016 Prius look "less Premium" aka, cheap. I imagine all colors will look better in person, but IMO, this color doesn't suit the cars lines, at least in photos and videos.

When we bought, late in 2010 the blizzard pearl was a $200 extra. Interesting how the surcharge creeps up in a few short years, to $395 (and in the 'States!). The car on the lot that we liked, colour aside, was silver (classic silver?), so we went with it. They had another (non-Prius) vehicle in the "Blizzard Pearl". It is nice, but I like the silver too, more subdued or something. Our 17" (Canadian Touring level) rims are identical silver colour, you can use the same touch-up pen.

Wife's first Prius [ 2005 ] was red---- the next auto we will buy will be a '17 or '18 red one.

I have a 2010 in Blizzard Pearl. It's great as long as you wash it every day. Otherwise the dirt show like someone is putting a spotlight on it.

I think dark cars show much more dirt than light ones.

Why not switch it up and get something red, green, or blue?

I think red doesn't suit Prius, green is barf, and blue (light) is for old people, blue (dark) is cool.

    All my opinion of course
