So i checked twice for the bubbling and gurgling on cold starts and once for a warm start. I can't hear it anymore. I may have heard it once but that was when i was really trying to hear it. Nevertheless the bubbling i heard on the first cold start from the dealer has NOT returned, which i take as a good sign. I checked the overflow and it is right under the line, while the radiator is filled. Hopefully this issue is done with. That being said i'll take it out on 50 mile drive this weekend and push it hard to get any last bubbles out (if there is any). With all that said i can't thank you enough with all the help/advice you have given. I don't know how i could thank you. Hopefully i can put this behind me.

Hopefully final update for anyone who cares. I cannot hear the bubbling anymore and calling this project done. The original dealer quoted $676 for the pump, plus $160 for the coolant flush. In total i spent about $170 for the pump, coolant and having the dealer do a coolant flush. Either way i saved a lot of money. This had to be one of my worst projects just because of the nightmare involved in bleeding the air. However thanks to the great members of this forum and a huge shout out to Patrick Wong, i was able to finish this project.
That being said for anyone who is looking to do something similar to this be patient. And follow the great guides hear on the forum, they were very helpful. Other than bleeding the air, the water pump install went easy, everything went back together great and didn't take more than two hours. Here is the picture of the pump, which apparently may have not needed to be replaced, either way its done. Thanks again for all this forums help!

First time I saw one. You will notice the mating surface of each flange is relatively small, that's another contributing cause to the " pink seepage"

Can you please take a couple of additional photos that show the coolant seepage without the pulley flange blocking the view?

Congratulations on persevering and seeing this through to a successful conclusion.

Couldn't have done it without you! Also in hindsight the dealer should have done it with out forcing me to shell out a diagnostic fee.

Thanks for providing the additional photos, which show that the pump was in the very early stages of coolant weeping out of the bearing and it could have remained in service longer. In any event, you now have developed expertise in this service area.

Other PC members previously reported similar experiences as you had, with the Toyota dealer service tech failing to correctly purge air out of the engine coolant system.

One thing i like to add, the level of my radiator has dropped to almost to the bottom of the neck and the overflow has dropped a little too. This to me double confirms that the dealer did not bleed the air properly as no more bubbles appear behind the dash. Either way i'll bring the car back to them to let them top it off, and let them know of the crappy job they did.

Easiest way to bleed Prius radiator is to install bleeder funnel on top of radiator, leave radiator cap off, fill funnel 3/4 with coolant run engine with heater turned on full for 20 minutes or so. This is the one we use at my shop http://a.co/dKlETFU
