Never, only comes up when I switch screens...but the phone IS connected...the message is just 'saved' to display when not on the CAN-View screen.

I will add the new software on Friday using a Macintosh Computer! Well yes and now but we shall see how it works with the USB. Now if I can only get the VPN to the hospital to work correctly with my Airport I will be in fat city. If I have time on Saturday I want to try to load some of the earlier software for the CAN View and see if I can get it to work differently. I am also trying to get the Verizon Motorola V710 reactivated on a pay as you go basis. Remove the phone book I uploaded and get the Car, Can-View and Phone back to January 06 condition and see what happens. Has anyone out there with a phone not uploaded the Phone book to the car? Yes I still have this phone fetish thing going but I am in therapy and I am feeling much better now.

I've tried CIapr156, CIapr166, CIapr176 and there is some improvement and some changes. All of the three above have similar results. CIapr156 and CIapr166 both have beeps disabled for 2 minutes but CIapr176 does not. Beeps disabled for 2 minutes does not help.

    Here is what I found:
    • Autostart no longer works with Beeps ON in ACC mode
    • Autostart continues to work with Beeps OFF if Last screen was Energy or Consumption
    • With Beep ON if Last Scren was MAP you now get a blank screen. This appears to be CAN-View's Video 1 screen. If you have the NTSC/RGB convertor can you verify that this screen is indeed Video 1?
    • Pressing Climate from blank screen toggles between Climate and blank screen
    • Pressing Audio from blank screen toggles to Audio screen then to CAN-View screen
    • Pressing Info MFD button from blank screen toggles from Info to CAN-View
    • Pressing Info on steering wheel from blank screen brings up Energy or Consumption

Mike the recent Mike5 CI update worked fine. Auto start beeps everything. Phone works as well. Still no Bluetooth Banner Connect banner but that is very minor. Sorry it took me so long to get to this. I was out of town in DC and then I had to "pay the price" for leaving for a few days. I blame that on the Puritans coming to this country and their totally unreasonable work ethic we inherited. I envy the countries that have a 30 hour work week. We work too hard in this country in my opinion. I write this while on call and working of course.

    Excellent!

    Download CCmay026, CIapr296 and CVapr296

You will find a new NAV setting in SETUP which turns on and off the delay to enable autostart. However, I found that with NAV=OFF (i.e. no delay) autostart is now working from all last screens. Working with Norm to figure out why it now works with no delay. These versions also have an extra Text screen after Text 2.

So Autostart will now work from whatever the last screen was and with Beeps ON or OFF (JBL).

Bluetooth Connection Successful banner will only show up AFTER you exit CAN-View to another screen however the BT connection is already functional.

FYI: Previously when the last screen was MAP before shutdown, then when you powered up you would see the sky screen then map screen then brief flash of CAN-View then a blank screen. This blank screen was actually Video 2 (i.e. the NAV MAP video) but the NAV video was turned off because it thought CAN-View was on the display. CAN-View must have gotten a late request to display the MAP and switched to Video 2. I figured this out by hooking my video camera to Video 1 and Video 2 while in the blank screen.

Norm implemented ignoring MAP request during autostart and that allowed CAN-View to autostart if the last screen was a MAP screen.

    Mike

So, are you saying we do not need to install the mikeie thing now?

That is correct. The standard versions on the download page
now have autostart working (though Norm is not sure why
it started working w/out delay that he put in). You can set
NAV=YES for the delay Norm added or NAV=NO for no
delay. Either seems to work for me and Autostart now
    works reliably all the time.

That makes me feel way better. I had been operating on the assumption that the whole thing was part of my switch from one cell phone to another. I just tried it out and now both work as before. Heaven only knows what the problem was (and I hate that). At least I am not crazy, or not! Which is better? At the very least it clears up one dead end for me.
