Trunk would be my biggest concern (esp. after coming from a Prius Liftback) but the rest of the experience with the short test drive of a Fusion Energi has left me impressed. It's a really nice vehicle, especially for someone who priorities passenger comfort over cargo carrying capability (e.g.a 2-car household or a limo service).

when does the next energy come out? maybe they'll be able to slide the batteries under the trunk.

That will be a gracefully improvement over the existing configuration.
As Tideland commented, I switched comfort and luxury against cargo load capacity.
Still I have access to my wife's 2011 lift back..

Updating my last post in this thread: I finally had to fill up again at 4,800 miles on this tank* and approx. 16 gallons of gas used this year. I doubled my personal best in my 2012 volt tank range of 2,400 miles but it did take more effort on charging on my part and towards the end a change/reduction in my overall commuter trip length helped too.

I've had no repairs or major issues needing attention. There are some software recall campaigns but I haven't felt an urgent need to take it in for them. Nearing 17,000 miles and no maintenance costs yet other than wiper fluid. LOL

    * #1 members in the online Ford Energi (cmax and fusion) ranking system sometimes achieve 10,000+ miles on a tank of gas so I'm not worthy......

How did you get your screen to show gallons and kWh used?? Mine has a huge Hold OK to Reset and would like to get the details you have. Especially the kWh used with 4 digits, I only get 3 and find that very limiting!

Hold on a second, the graphic of the gas pump shows to be on the passenger side, (the arrow next to the pump picture)
Mine is in the opposite side, the driver's side and the gas port is in the right place.
    Something is not interpolating here....................

I also get the same screen, you will have to play around for a little bet to get to it.
Fotomoto had set-up his TRIP 2 to log data from day one, probably.
I'm second owner of the Energi so I can't get such a good data; my vehicle had made several long interstate trips in it's past.

The OP asked for thoughts on Ford Energi's. I have a CMax Energi (look at the photos I posted on page 1) so I'm sure there are differences between the two model platforms even though the drivetrains are the same. For instance, my gas door really is on the right side of the vehicle just as the display icon indicates in my photos.

Tony, use the cursor arrows on the steering wheel controller to cancel out of the reset option so you can see the entire display.

Yes and no. I have trip 2 setup for the current tank and is reset when I fill up. I have trip 1 set for lifetime (original owner). My car is a job 2 build in Ford speak and doesn't keep the non-resettable lifetime totals like job 1's.

My trip2 has never been reset since day 1 of me owning the car. The car had about 30-40 miles on it since they had to bring it from another dealer. They didn't have a full charge. However I onlt have the reset message. Using the up and down arrows with the left steering controller I can choose the other menus like trip1 ect... right takes me to help, and left goes back to main menu. I have a 2015 Fusion Titanium, What do you own Mrbigh? Maybe you have a different software version???

I've found this.... But I cant seem to get there....

I posted on another thread my recent interest in the FFE after driving my daughter's FFH. Most of what I am reading here is steering me toward the FFE and away from the Volt/ES300h/Avalon H/etc. Trunk space isn't an issue for me even if we sell the two Prii. Still have the F-150 to haul pretty much anything we need to haul. Appreciate all of the information posted on this thread.

Any info on the difference in the 2016 vs. the 2015. Still able to find a few of the 2015's around.

Sounds like the mid-cycle refresh of the Fusion is going to be for 2017MY, and the biggest one there will be a V6 ICE option:(. So any difference between the 2015 and 2016 will be minor.

Good to know. Not sure I need to wait for the V6 ICE. Seems to have enough get up and go with the current I4.

The V6 is for the non-hybrid sport trim, and will have AWD. It seems a step back from when the V6 disappeared from the Fusion with this generation, but it is the 2.7L Ecoboost. So it should get decent fuel economy for what it is, and perhaps start/stop will be standard as it is on the F150 with the same engine. Guess it makes sense considering the sport Focus and Fiesta get the 2.0L and 1.6L Ecoboost.
