I have a 2005 Prius with about 20k miles. Like other posts, my panel creeks when I rest my arm on it. However, within the last two weeks it has now started to peel. There is a thin plastic cover over a plastic substrate that has separated and peeled off. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it under warranty?

This has been reported several times and is covered under the warranty. Some have reported that they used sun tan lotion and drove with the window down and their arm on the panel.

I had the drivers door panel replaced on my 05 Prius under warranty due to the same peeling problem. It was a 10 minute replacement, but the cost of the panel out of warranty was around $525.00 I hope this is a permanent fix.

I also had my driver's door on my 2005 do this. They replaced it under warranty.

In the 2006, they have replaced the coverings on the doors with a more textured, durable material. (Whew!)
