I've had very little luck with either Toyota or Verizon in getting someone to assure me about compatability between a phone and the car.

Toyota says, talk to your service provider, and service provider says talk to car manufacturer.

The Toyota.com website that addresses compatability seems to focus on companies other than Verizon.

Has anyone tried to link a Motorola Razor Phone with the car and had any success, or a complete failure?

    Thank you.

Sure, there are a lot of us with Razrs. I have mine with Cingular/ATT and love it. Wish I'd gotten it sooner.

Should have mine via mail from Verizon in a day or so. Any hints on setup beyond the Prius Manual?

Can I be entering numbers ahead of time without it all being wasted when I get the phone?

you'll find it is very intuitive once you find the screen on the display, i have the SE t616 with cingular/att you might as well wait to transfer phone #'s it's just a one button deal with some phones, albeit there are a few that can only transfer one at a time. there's a great thread here that had a URL which had a rather extensive list of phones and capabilities ...

The entire connection process is available in the heavily illustrated document here...

BAd news your verizon phone may not work with the prius. Verizon has most of the blue tooth functions locked out. I got in a BIG p*** contest with them over this issue and have since gone with T Mobile who does not restrict blue tooth in any way. There was a story on the web about 2 months ago about a class action suit over this issue but I haven,t seen anything more about it . When you talk to verizon about this they will tell you that it is a security issue and they are working on it. (yea for the last two years). If the phone does not work send it back right a way so they will give ya your money back. Don,t let them jerk you around until your stuck with the new phone. Hope this helps.

Your Verizon phone will work with the Prius in hands free headset mode. You will not be able to transfer phone numbers from the phone to the car. The class action law suit against Verizon concerns the Motorola v710 phone--the first Verizon phone to have Bluetooth. Verizon failed to understand the saaviness of Bluetooth users and did not advertise the fact that the Object Push Profile was disabled which in turn makes it impossible to transfer phone contacts into the Prius phone book. I have used a Motorola v710, e815, and Razr with the Prius for handsfree calling without problem. It is my understanding that you can enter contacts manually into the 2006 systems.

I linked my Verizon RAZR with an '05 on the dealers lot in seconds without an instruction manual. It's no big deal

    Thanks to ALL of you!

I got the phone today and can confirm the following:

The Razor does work with Verizon. Got it going very quickly. All of the features, including voice recognition seem to work.

The transfer does NOT seem to work, although the on line manual link shown by john1701a seems to indicate it will transfer one contact at a time. At that rate I'll just program it manually.

This is what make the forum so great! Super help and guidance. I hope that after a while with the car I'll be offering more help rather than just asking questions.
