I replaced my headlight bulbs this weekend, so I decided to check all the other bulbs. The DRL's would not turn on. Since they're LED's and since it was both lights, I ruled out bulb failure and loose connection.

I switched out the 7.5A fuse and the relay. No luck. The radio has a setting to disable the DRL's. I checked, but the radio set DRL to ON. No DRL's.

What solved my problem? Release the Parking Brake. The DRL's will only illuminate when the parking brake is off.

It's just that simple. Thought I'd pass this along. Somebody will google this thread someday and hopefully save some frustration.

There's a Parking Brake? But seriously, there's also a setting that enables/disables DRL. This one had me stumped when we first got our car (used) and the previous owner had them disabled...

This really helped me. Who would have known this? Nothing about it in the manual. Changed out the headlight bulbs to Philips x-trememevision and when I checked them no DRL. Of course I had the parking brake on. Turned it off and then had DRL’s.

I don’t understand why you can turn the DRL’s off? They should just come on automatically when the car is started.

That is such a useless option to turn off the DRL.

Who knows? In places like Arizona, we get very few cloudy days. There's a lot of sunlight, so maybe some folks figure they'll gain more benefit from less electrical pull, than they will by trying to outshine the Arizona sun! Just a guess n

Hello, Moderator, can you fix the double quote that appeared and add me a period, at the end? For some reason, I hit the 'n', instead of the period. Heh heh!
    Y'all have a great day!
