That Toyota does not make it for the Prius. Whats up with that?

I got my side molding from metrotpn.com and am very happy with it. I'm not sure if it's made by Toyota but it looks great on the car.

I guess it's the new style. All new cars don't have them - Camry, Solara, RAV4, Yaris etc.

I don't know why but at least the Prius has *some* design to the doors not like some cars where it's just one flat piece of sheet metal.

Considering vehicles now days are sized anywhere from sports cars to Hummers, the only way for side moldings to protect against everything would be if the entire side of the car was a side molding.

And thats why i'm not buying side moldings. If I put them on some jerk in his tall truck or small low rider will find a way to ding my door and miss the moldings. I think the side moldings look nice on the car but I think the car looks better without them. I try to park in empty parts of the lot when possable. So far I've been able to buff out all the scratches and dings with that gs-27 crap. I had some prety nasty ones too. Some people have no respect for other peoples property.

    looks great.

I think if I ever install these, I'll put them at a slight angle (front slightly lower than the back).

Exactly what I did today on white Prizzle. Angles from about half way between rim and top of front tire to top of rear wheel opening. Nice rake at about the same angle as door handles but not quite as high a rake as the crease. Completely changes the character of the car, for the better IMHO. Together with the plastic rim trim rings off, we are very pleased with the look. Will be adding in mudflaps tomorrow to complete the upgrade and debadging to clean it all up. Thanks to all on Priuschat for the ideas.

I must say, however, the quality of the product was disappointing. Black plastic base with white paint and there were mispaints and chips abounding. Also, more than an acceptable amount of extra plastic extrusion tabbing around the edges. We'll fix with a little touch up paint, and the overall effect and insurance against door dings is generally worth it, though I expect a lot of touching up going forward. Cheaper to replace than hiring the door dent weasle.

Priuschat Accessory Store, but they were actually shipped from Metro Toyota. My guess is all the vendors source from the same manufacturer.

Got my side molding from Metro, many people have been waiting a long time for the group buy on this site so I decided to splurge.
I bought a used BT plate on this forum for $140 inc. shipping and a buddy of mine at the Toyota dealership put the plate and moldings on for $40.
