Ok... I've done alot of reading and been dun educated. I'm not a detailing zealot, but my first truely new car in 18 years, I'd like to protect as best I can my Seaside Pearl 06.

I put a coat of NuFinish on about a month ago, and it looks good. But the more I read, it seems to me that while NuFinish is a fine durable product, it is not the best choice for a 3 month old car finish. I'll save it for use on the 98 Forrester and Lumina.

I am thinking of putting on one of the following:

    Four Star Ultimate Paint Ptotection

    Mequiars XLT

Klasse All in One & Sealant Glaze

The big question is... Can these go on over the NuFinish or should I wait a few months for the NuFinish to wear off? If the weather was better, I WAS going to put on the 2nd coat (as recommended) of NuFinish on this weekend... but for weather and the above reasons am not?

(I also learned NOt to use baby diaper material to take off the residue from waxes.sealants)

This product is now hard to find, since most of their online retailers have dropped the line after discussions with the manufacturer. No one wants to reveal what information was shared, other than some vague comments about the manufacturerer wanting to "go in a new direction" and whatever they're planning not being compatible with what the distributors wanted. A few other products that I consider just as good are Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection, and Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket.

There is no such product - maybe you meant NXT Tech Wax?
Klasse AIO is a cleaner/polish/sealant, so it's going to take off whatever is already on your car.

Is there some reason you don't want to use Zaino? It's a little more expensive, and inconvenient to use in small amounts, but it does have good longevity. You can apply it over Klasse AIO - lots of people do this and it works fine. Seaside Blue isn't dark - Zaino should look fine on it. It's the Barcelona Red I would really worry about - seems like the perfect combination for the cheap plasticky look.

The Zaino Z5/Z2Pro combination looks incredible on the Barcelona Red. I did my friend's car right after she picked it up, and it was fun doing the complete treatment to it.

    Yes, it was Mequiars NXT...

So it sounds like I should use something, like Klasse AIO then a sealant. Would I do the same if using the Wolfgang, Wet Diamond and Menzerna products you mentioned above? remove the NuFinish through some product that removes the old through a method other than abrasives, then the new product? They shouldn't really go 'over' NuFinish, right? Thenks for the info!

I would recommend you take the NuFinish off with the AIO regardless of what sealant you decide to put on top.

I have no idea whether there would be a bonding problem applying sealant over NuFinish, nor was I able to find any information on any of the detailing web forums I follow (enthusiasts would never use a "once a year" product). The safest thing to do is to take it off first.
