Warning Ebay seller uspartsoutlet is, absolutly selling bogus Optima Prius batteries.

You should concentrate your blame on the manufacture of the product, the people you've turned to for false answers. I too had an Optima experience, where I had to return the product after a few months (probably less than 6 months) because the battery was defective and didn't hold a charge. Not holding a charge means, I charge it 13 volts and without use, it would drop to 11.xx volts overnight. I returned the battery to the vendor and got a FREE properly working replacement.

Did I think it was a scam that I bought a brand new Optima battery that became defective a few months later? NO! Did I have to charge the battery up a few times to determine it was discharging prematurely on it's own? YES! Did all the charging cause marks to show on the battery posts???? YES. Who's fault is it?????? THIS IS OPTIMAS FAULT! Did I write a thesis on who to blame afterwards? NO

I feel bad the retailer had to entertain this BS by me returning the product and they have to give me a replacement. Do I think they will resell the battery I returned? Most likely not because I actually had the proper equipment to test the battery and show proved it was a defective product. What if the product returned to them was a good battery but they took my word it was bad? Now they can't return this to OPTIMA because it tested GOOD. Well in that case, they would clean it up and resell the battery as it's not defective but just returned by an inexperienced online shopper (part of the downside of selling online). This is PROBABLY what happened in your case. Once again the blame goes to OPTIMA, and you should feel sorry for the retailers that have to put up with these warranty returns that Optima has created!

 

Internet "scams" work both ways! paypal make it too easy for bogus buyers to claim a refund and if the postage outweighs the price of the item, bogus buyer keeps the (said faulty) item plus get a full refund, not fun for the seller.

Its not a "scam" if the seller is willing to give you a full refund right? a "SCAM" is when the "scammer" keeps both your money and your item

The battery you keep posting photos of actually looks new to me, a bit grubby from 6 months on the shelf in a busy warehouse, maybe I am blind but I really don't see any evidence that its not "new" its just a car battery not some expensive jewelry, if it turns up with some dust on it big deal! 12.6v does NOT make it defective, I am sure that battery would be perfectly fine, if it had a bad cell (which it clearly does not) it would be 11v at most.

Please don't expect us to believe this seller is selling "used batteries they have cleaned up and reconditioned sleezy eazy slapped a new date code on and now selling online" lol sorry I'm also calling BS to that, total nonsense.

200,000 feedback 99.9% positive even after reading this post I would buy a battery off that seller in a heartbeat
