    Hey All,

You have been such a great help with past questions I am going to the experts again for some more answers, ideas, etc. I am contemplating modifying, when it comes in, a 2006 model in the Magnetic Gray color. It will have combination D aka Package #8. The new question is should I add mods or not and if so at what cost both monetarily as well as in weight which in turn will/may affect fuel economy and handling?

If I wish to add kits to the car to alter the look how much will they affect Cd, weight, fuel economy? Does anyone have figures on this sort of thing? What kits are available?

What about changing wheels and what sizes are we limited to? Can we get wheels lighter than those which come stock? How much lighter? What do you do with the original wheels after you install the new ones?

    And the questions go on...

So, feel free to jump right in and give me your $.02, or if you can spare it :p , $.03 or more. I am open to all of the suggestions and pros/cons that go with the various mods. Fire away.

    Thanks,
    R

this is why we need one huge FAQ button on the main page. that FAQ page will have short hand answers to questions. Any "official" info (given in previous forums by members) should be quoted and linked to the original post. Moderators or owner could keep adding on info.

O well.. we don't have it yet.

First thing. BT Tech plate. It makes a huge difference. I and others are wondering how well the suspension mods work. People have ordered them but no installs. Any items from Sigma seem to work well (toms suspension brace, etc) ....

feel free to add what you want... stereo.. speakers, extra monitor, etc. The pull on your HV battery is kinda minimal compaired to your AC running Defrost mode. Work on your style of driving before you get an EV mod.. or... get the ev mod. The only way you could save fuel with an EV mod is: you use it to get out of your driveway before warmup (... saves you 10 seconds of warm up time? and a parking lot.... 20 seconds. It's more for fun :)

btw, if you go to do anything to your system, try swapping out for better speakers first. Then a sub.. then new amps.. then head unit. it's best to go to a professional to have this done.

stickers, body kits, and shark fin are up to you. what's your style?

So I followed the link to the CAN view webpage and it seems that CAN view is just the ability to see diagnostic information, correct? If that is all I personally wouldn't be interested in that information, however as I read there was a option/package on that site that mentioned something about it enabling the connection/use of another camera/monitor. I would be interested in some type of solution that would enable me to see in front of my car as I park close to something just as the rear view camera assists when parking in reverse. What are the options to solving this question?

The cheap method is to go to an auto store and get a cell phone antenna for about $12. Attach that to the front license plate frame. You should be able to see the tip of the antenna, that would be the front. You can add an antenna ball to make it more obvious. :)

Nobody has done this yet, but there are reverse sensors that beep (slowly at first then faster) as you approach an object. Some have a digital readout. Put one of those in front with a switch to activate it. I did see a system that had sensors for both front and rear, but with the rear camera you wouldn't need something like that.

The third method is to install a camera in the front and patch it to the MFD. Some have done that to add a DVD player. You'll have to do a Search to see how that's done.

If you have to ask, you can afford it.

    (But seriously, no.)
