When I am driving, especially at high speeds on the highway, the Navigation System on my Prius runs pretty slow. As the GPS icon is traveling, the movement is very choppy. It is not a smooth transition.
Is there any way that I can fix this?

Check the GPS aerial is connected properly. Maybe try repositioning the GPS aerial. It is a separate aerial (from the AM/FM aerial used by the radio). The GPS aerial (IIRC) is situated behind the dash towards the upper left.

Maybe you're in an area with poor GPS satellite coverage?

When I had a Prius with built in GPS, it work smoothly most of the time. I only had problems when it was apparent it was not receiving from enough satellites. It can use onboard telemetry to some extent to compensate, but when it regains satellite input it would tend to jump to the correct position.

That's all I can think of.
