Hey all! So I got my orange 2013 Prius C a couple weeks ago, and am excited to make it a bit more fun! If I had a big budget, I would make it cool with black 17" rims and tinted windows and smoked taillights and stuff. But since I'm on a tight budget, and it is a Prius after all ;), I decided to go with more of a "fun" theme to the car!

I decided since the car already has a "blue" accent theme, that would be easiest to run with. It's already a great complementary color to the orange. And painted steelies are a cheap and easy solution.

I found an example of steelies painted blue, with white walls, here:

So I used MS Paint (lol) and plastered them onto my car, to get an idea of what it might look like:

And then I think I would like to do a BLUE vinyl wrap on the door handles, side mirrors, and the gas cover, something like this:

My final thing I want to do is paint or vinyl wrap the front grill of the car black, to give it that cool Mitsubishi EVO look. I think paint/vinyl will be cheaper than buying the garnish. Example:

And then I think I'd like to put those black visors over the top of the windows, but not sure whether to leave them black, or paint them blue to match the blue steelies paint. Any suggestions or feedback?

I think the blue will add to much color. But its your car, so you have the final say.

I went to the subreddit for Photoshop requests, and the guys there did a nice mock-up for me!

    Hmm...
My fear is that a "fun" theme isn't necessarily going to end up being any less expensive than a your "cool" desires.

Also, if you REALLY would rather do "A" and compromise by doing "B", I think it only reaches disappointment.

Tinted Windows, Black Rims, Smoked Taillights all might be expensive executions, but I would consider doing more of EXACTLY what you really want to do, but perhaps at a slower pace. Save up, do a modification you want...save up..do the next...

Then ultimately your end product would become an embracing of exactly what you want....Cool and Fun.

That's extremely good advice, I should've worded it more carefully. It's true that I would love option 1 more than option 2, because cool cars are frickin' cool. But I should qualify my point that it wouldn't strictly be a "consolation prize" to go with a more "fun" theme, I actually would love the ever-living crap out of option 2, hehe. I have been driving a Pontiac Aztek(!), and I love the goofy/fun stuff as much as the cool stuff.

But basically if I did option 1, I would have to buy new rims, new tires, body kit, probably spoiler, window tint, black grill front, then black out taillights and headlights. Option 2 is merely paint for stock wheels, tiny amount of vinyl wrap on handles and side mirrors, and front grill. It would probably be close to two thousand dollars cheaper, and still a crapload of fun. ^_^

It's a bold color combo for sure!
As an alumna of the University of Florida (go Gators!), I wholeheartedly support this plan :D

    OK...
If you've been driving an Aztek, I'm not even going to speculate as to what you are capable of as far as pushing the creative envelope.

I would say, I think you ultimately can work towards BOTH fun and cool, they are not mutually exclusive scenario's.

True -- but when one costs an extra $1,500 than the other, and you would enjoy both, that's a pretty big variable, ;-D.
