My 2002 Prius was vandalized last week and someone must have hit downward on the right side mirror, breaking the housing off so it just dangles. I haven't had a chance to take it by the dealer to see what it would cost to replace. I'm tempted to try a bit of epoxy glue... but figure it'll be more worthwhile to just pay the few hundred dollars and not worry about it again. I see posts about new signal mirrors... doubt those come with the entire housing? Has anyone had the misfortune of dealing with broken mirrors?

Ugh, sorry to hear about your car getting singled out...

AS for the mirror, I understand from naterprius' post that the signal mirrors do include the new housing. This is one of the few parts that comes with the new mirrors. He did have to do a bit of extra works such as swapping the glass out and some re-wiring to get the signals to work.

He also stated that the he used the same mount that is bolted to the car, that came with the car.

    Also, I think he has a 2004...

So recently I have had a deer hit my 2002 Prius. Thank god im okay and the only damage to the car was to my driver side mirror. It broke the mirror and the mirror backing. the housing unit and the motor to the mirror all work fine. I am in understanding that I will have to buy the whole side mirror assembly since the mirror backing was also broke. My question is, can I keep my current housing unit and motor that is on my car now and just remove the mirror with the backing from the new assembly and put it onto my car without breaking the mirror backing? Is that piece easily removed without causing hard to the whole assembly. thank you!

Also, if anyone can explain how i make my own form on here that would be great too!!
