I'm thinking about getting a puppy for my husband in the coming months. Does anyone have a boston terrier or a pug... know of a great breeder? I'm googling as I type, but thought to ask you guys, too... Thanks!

Have you thought about contacting a rescue group?
My parents have an Irish Terrier that came form a great group that rescues purebreds from shelters and abusive breeders.
It may not work, but it might be worth a try.

Do you plan on having the pup neutered anyway? If so, try www.petfinder.com, and see if you can find an animal you want that needs you. You could also look into Pug or Boston Terrier rescue groups. You may still end up spending a good bit of money, but the money will support animal welfare instead of breeding new animals

    EDIT: too slow again! =P

My boyfriend has always had Boston Terriers. They are very sweet, like to sleep under the covers, love everyone, rarely bark and it seems like they never grow old, they play and play and play. One down side, they fart - paint peeling off the walls, curdling the milk, curling your hair (or straightening your hair) kind of farts. Beyond that, they are the "American Gentleman(woman)".

    Good luck!

One of my neighbors has a Boston terrier/pug mix- cute little dog; they call it a "bug."
I don't know if it farts.

I looked up the Bugs, and although they are oh so cute, I decided on a Boston Terrier. My pup is to be born on Monday and I'll be picking him/her up in late June. This continues to be a surprise from my husband... so I'll be suffering with this huuuge secret until then. I've already chosen a name. Red Bean.

I hope I'm not violating rules here, but we have a bug group in Yahoo and I have a web site called www.thebugmug.com . There are over 200 members at this time, most of us have at least one bug, but it isn't required to even have a dog to join. I personally have two bugs, two bostons, a chihuahua mix and a pomeranian. Bugs are the best. We are currently helping find a breeder in the LA/San Diego area and would appreciate any help you could give us. This family wants a female puppy, preferably white, but fawn is okay too. Come check us out.
