I have been expecting the check engine light to come on soon for routine maintenance, which I am taking into the shop on Wednesday. However, other things have started to pop up. The red triangle, (!), Check Engine, and VSC have lit up on the dash, but sometimes the VSC and (!) disappear.

The battery has been charging and discharging fairly erratically. It will charge up to the green then be in the purple less than a minute later. Just now things got worse. It seems like the battery wasn't charging or discharging, as though its not even connected to the motor. Whenever I hit the pedal all I hear is the engine spool up with little to no acceleration. I have also started noticing a hissing noise, like a vent, on the passenger side backseat.

Any ideas what this might be?

Bad traction battery. "hissing" is the battery cooling fan running at full blast.

Confirm by reading codes. Code reading options in my signature.

Hissing noise in the back along with fan running would be really bad.
This can mean batteries are "venting" from too much internal pressure.

It does sound like a HV battery. I rebuild them in my spare time. I'm set up to load test the modules and also cycle the pack multiple times before reinstalling to insure good balance. I currently have one ready to go. I'm located in central FL which isn't too far from you. $500 and I'll guarantee it for 6 months. I've done over 20 of them and the only come back I've had was on my mothers of all people.

Yes sir. I buy used tested modules. I purchase about 5 at a time so I have a selection to choose from so I can get as close as possible to start with when rebuilding the pack.
