In the last few weeks, I've noticed that there is a weird noise coming from the drivers side of the dashboard. It sounds like it's coming from inside the steering column, but I'm probably wrong (I don't think there's any liquid in the steering column). The sound happens constantly, never stops, happens about 3-4 times a second, and gets VERY annoying. It sounds like some liquid is trying to be pumped, but there is no electrical sound like a motor or anything. The sound happens also when the car isn't moving. I need help fixing this!
May be the brake vacuum pump which is right below the steering column in the engine well. if its constantly cycling you have a bad brake abs unit that is leaking. Pump sounds like a rattle snake. It will throw dtc lights on the dashboard also. If you have lights on the dashboard I recommend you get them decoded. And post those codes back here for us.
Ya, it might be the brake vacuum pump (because the brakes have been sounding funny lately too). It doesn't sound like a rattlesnake though. I don't have any lights on the dashboard.
