    Greetings Gents (and Ladies),

    (no pictures, sorry).

Newbie to the Prius party. Hello! About a week ago a sea mist pearl (bisque interior - I know..) 2014 Two made it's way into my family fleet. First hybrid. Was a lease return, 24k miles, clean inside and out. I learned something that day - clean used Prii don't sit very long on lots. Checked a few lots with a whole lot of "nope". Eventually lot #4 had 4 cars (2x 2014 Two, 2013 Two, and 2014 Three) for me to look at. Picked the best of the bunch. The math worked out to $16k + TLL. I know a deal it was not, but a fair price it was all the things considered, and the requirement for the car was urgent - so didn't particularly have time to dig deep (and like I said, they don't seem to sit long around here).

I must say that I lurked here a bit for a few days prior to the purchase to beef up my Prius knowledge. The car is not my personal daily driver, but I am the "car guy" in the family so all car related events happen through me. I will admit that during the test drive I liked it more than I thought I would, but also I'm glad it's not my daily. Hello unpopular opinion. Primary logic here was - relatively inexpensive cost of entry, decent comfort and people/cargo flexibility, MPGs (obviously), and projected reliability. The next car to be replaced will be replaced with a "fun car".

Keep doing what you're doing. This forum is a goldmine.

    Welcome.

I am in similar situation as you. I like my Prius but am looking for a "fun car" for my next purchase. I plan to keep the Prius as the commuter car. For the next car I always keep coming back to VW GTI. I have looked at Mazda 3 and Subaru Outback but somehow the GTI stands out. What cars are you considering?

Welcome! I own a 2015 Prius two, same color and interior as you. I personally like the bisque interior better than the gray...that's just me though!

Isn't the answer ALWAYS Miata? To be honest, not totally sure. Something half way practical, but it should be able to handle Chicago winters.

I do too, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. Ha! The ocean kelp pearl is cool. I like the blue a little better, but it's also less practical (shows more dirt, gets hotter in the sun, etc). As for the light interior - my car was babied for 2 years and it already shows some wear on common touch points (arm rests, seats, carpets). BUT - it also makes the car feel A LOT airier inside (which is good). I tried a car with the dark interior too while the wear on soft materials was a little better, the wear on hard plastic parts was actually worse, and it made the car feel a lot more claustrophobic. Should probably just get some seat covers though.
