I also ordered one. Thanks Danny. Quick question, is there a way to know when our heatshield has shipped? I know this isn't a fancypants online store operation, but is there a way to get a tracking number?

If you haven't received your item after 5 business days, feel free to contact me and I'll ask CanvasWorks for your UPS tracking #.

Due to popular demand, I have changed the payment system to be a shopping cart now so that you can order multiple HeatShields at once. I have also added an option for you to input yourselves the make/model of any other car you want a HeatShield for.

If you would like to order multiple HeatShields, the price is $54.00 shipped for 2, $80.00 shipped for 3, and $105.00 for a full set of all 4 HeatShield pieces (Front, Rear, Front Side, Rear Side).

I apologize for not having this up sooner.

These things are selling a lot faster than I ever thought they would - 24 hours before the prices go up a little bit!

Oh well I guess that makes me a day early and $2 early. Glad the heat shield are going like hot potatoes. Hope that the volume continues after the sale so that PriusChat can maintain its distributor status. If that ends up changing be sure to post a "going out of business" sign so that those of us waiting for a (second) Prius can buy an support the forum at the same time.

As usual I waited until the deadline, though I ordered mine with several hours to spare.

    Getting the headshield to unroll....

Ours arrived rolled pretty tightly, and it really wants to stay that way. As usual in these 'we don' need no steenkin' manual' days, we tossed the packaging with instructions and threw the unit into the car.

Yesterday, we tried to use it for the first time but couldn't get the shield to unroll and stay that way.

Were we supposed to "train" it, somehow?

    Thanks!

Since the sale is over, I purchased sun shades from Toyota for the front window. It is a roll up kind, and is made for the 2004 Prius. It fits snugly, and looks very similar to the Canvasworks one (from what I could tell.)

The list price was $24.95, and they had a 10 % off sale at Toyota of Oxnard.

I saw no response to my previous post regarding a heat shield that is rolled up nicely, but is quite springy and won't stay unrolled well enough to stay on the windshield...

So, is the answer to return it?

I think I'd probably lay it out flat for up to 12 hours and then see how it is. If it's not good for you then, give CanvasWorks a call. Their CS has been pretty impressive.

Just an update, the reduced pricing is continuing for a little bit longer because of requests from people who didn't see the sale before. Get em while they're hot!

Mine was springy the first day. I put in on anyway twice for about eight hours each time and it is fine now.

One of my problems at the beginning was that I was not putting it on correctly. I found that it is important to put the forward part (the bottom of the window) first. That secured the forward part between the window and the dash. Pushing the upper part behind the mirror then secured the rest of the headshield.

I left the rear heatshield flat overnight then the next day I managed to get the suction cups to adhere. After about eight hours in the sun the material of the cups was restored to the original shape and adhered well.

I made a point today of ensuring that I did not fold over the suction cups when I rolled it up. CanvasWorks might want to point this out to their packers so that future orders arrive with non-misshaped suction cups.

Just got my heat shield. It's great. A little difficult to open the first time as it's rolled pretty tight but it's the best fitting shield on any car I've ever owned. Well done guys for finding this one.

Uhh, what suction cups? Did CanvasWorks change the design since April?

The front screen is as usual. The descriptions earlier in this tread point out that the rear and side screens are secured to the windows using suction cups.

Suction cups are for the side and rear windows.

Got mine Friday. Fits great. Rolls out and back up easy. Makes a BIG difference in car temp!
Looks great as well - class befitting a Prius.
    Thanks for the deal, Danny.
How about a front end mask next? :)

    Got mine replaced.

I've had my HeatShield for about 7 months. It started to "relax" in the middle when in place to the point it looks like it might start to fall from behind the mirror and visors.

I emailed Canvas Works and asked if they've changed the design or if mine might be defective. Their reply was to ask for my address so that they could ship a replacement! Nice service!

After reading the posts here I might try rolling it tighter to see if that doesn't help with the issue. It hasn't fallen out of place yet but it's getting close and I've gotten used to the cooler interior it provides.
