wind noise. whistle?

    I drove my 2009 Prius home from the dealership not even three weeks ago and knew it had a whistle as I was test driving the car. The dealership thought it could be how the window was sealed, the end result was a couple of cracked caps under the mirror on the drivers side and a missing cap on the passenger side. Taped over and the whistle is now gone. Now I'm on the hunt to find a part number to replace those clear caps. cracked mirror caps.JPG

    I just got a 2007 Prius last month and the whistling noise was getting annoying. I suspected the window seal and never bothered to search this forum. Now I know the cause, just ran out to check the car and sure enough the platic covering over the indentation is torn. Will tape it up and that should fix the noise.

    Did anyone consider filling up the indentations with some soft resin or wax? Might be a longer-lasting fix than tape.

    I would just put some silicone on it and call it a day. Nobody will ever see it

    Whilst getting the wind noise use one hand with a rag and place it over area to see if it goes away. Wife's gen 4 has the wind noise from driver ( only one I checked) door quarter glass. It ain't the seals of the glass as placing a rag horizontal on the door panel eliminated the noise. Wonder where it's coming from.
