    This was forwarded to me by a friend today- I've been ROFLMAO since!

    The Bush Administration tried to make Google turn over all records to see what websites you are looking at. Google refused and fought them in court. Meanwhile Google has put a small video together to express thier views on the Bush administration. Do the following to view it. It is very funny and worth the 30 seconds.

    Go to www.google.com
    Type in the word "donkey"
    Click the "I'm Feeling Lucky" tab and enjoy.

    Is it possible that this is another "Google Bomb" in which someone has tricked the Google engine to go to that page as its Priamry hit?
    Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining or disagreeing.

    Thanks for that Michael, I'm not sure if it made me laugh or cry.

    You mean because you think the Democrats will win next time around, and you think they're going to change anything? I grant you that no Democrat will be as stupid as Bush, and they'll be a lot more discreet about how they rob the public coffers than the republicans are.

    The Democrats have had their chance to pass living wage laws, and have not done so. They've had their chance to pass universal health care, and they've not done so. And the last president to speak half-way honestly about energy got thrown out on his ear by voters who wanted subsidized gas, not conservation.

    I think the rise of invective and cynicism in place of political dialog is not a good thing, but a bad thing. Its surprising to me that people find videos like this about President Bush, or stories of a politician's personal failings (President Clinton, Congressman Kennedy) so entertaining.

    Are there any rational, intelligent people left who can discuss things in a mature manner? Or must we demean ourselves by appealing to the lowest common denominator, resorting to crassness and encouraging the coarsening of society? Have James Carville and Ann Coulter really set the stage for us from now on?

    I actually agree with you. And I also take no pleasure in anyone's personal failings, Republican or Democrat. I would not, for instance, make fun of Bush's history of substance abuse, and if he has overcome it, good for him.
    However, many of us are enraged- that we are at war for no good reason; that people are left to die in the wake of a hurricane while Nero was fiddling; that the environment is sacrificed so that oil, coal and gas companies can prosper, that the gulf between rich and poor widens in this country.     Hell no, I have about as much faith in the Democratic Party as I do in the Boy Scouts- although, on an individual basis, there are some good Democrats. No, I see more of our problems being solved at the state and local level- people saying that we're not going to allow everything to fall to ruin in the wake of a failed administration. On issues from everything to global warming and environmental regulations to health care to economic justice, people are taking action independent of Washington. That is where are future lies.

    I agree with you as far as disappearing civility goes, but I can't help but think you simply don't understand the depth of rage in many of "us" over what's happened to our once-proud country in such a short time.

    As a liberal, I also consider myself a patriot. I still get misty-eyed occasionally listening to the National Anthem (when it's not being butchered by some show-off hip-hopper or crotch-grabber). I feel Bush is systematically stripping away every shred of decency upon which the U.S. gained stature in the eyes of the rest of the world. Half the time I want to scream; the other half, to cry.

    I've just posted, on its own thread, an interview published yesterday with John Dean, White House counsel to Richard Nixon. I especially urge all defenders of Bush to read it and to comment. It is this kind of analysis, I think, than can draw the poison from our wounds if thought about and acted upon rationally.

    Otherwise, Mr. Hagan, you ain't seen nothing yet, I'm afraid.

    Look the guy is doing the best he can with his limited intelligence and the staff he has. The only people who are more stupid are the ones who fell for, and continue to do so, his line of BS. Most of his supporters remind me of Packer fans. The Pack could lose every game and the fans still pack the stadium rain or shine while there is long lines waiting to buy tickets at prices that would keep me in gas for many months. I guess once someone is blinded by crap it's hard to wash it out their eyes.

    Back in the early 90's, the Right whined and screamed, Clinton bashed, sent Ken Starr after Clinton, and in 1994, took back the Congress with the Contract for America.

    And that was OK. Being in the military, I heard the CONSTANT Clinton bashing all the time. And that was OK.

    Now, Liberals are vocal, and want a change, and suddenly, it's wrong to do so. It's whining. It's unpatriotic.

    It's the circle of political life.

    When you start whining and complaining in the next few years about a Democratic Congress and President, I'll remember to copy and paste your quote above. And tell you nicely to be quiet! :)
