im a newbie. Just bought a 2004 with 240000 on it. Yesterday it started accelerating roughly. Today did the same and the traction control light came on and off several times. And just half hour ago I drove it about 10 minutes in town and the check engine light came on and stayed on. HELP.

you can try them, but a lot of times, you need a toyota specific reader.

For detail codes, always; however, the ELM327 based OBD2 readers have been extremely reliable for me on multiple cars for reading the base code.

And I assume you're excluding the MiniVCI I list as well. It's hard to get more specific than that. :)

I don't respond well to "English please."

    It's in English.

A simple google search on your part would likely answer any questions.

I'm not going to spoonfeed you like a child.

Again, code reading options in my sig. Not a single one costs over $30 unless you need to buy a laptop, and you can find old used XP laptops for almost nothing.

you can buy mini vci on line. it includes tech stream software which will tell you all you need to know about prius. it's cheap, but you also need an old laptop to run it, because it may contain virus.

    johnny,
Can you please identify exactly which viruses are contained in the mini vci?
I mean, specifically, what are the names of the files/programs that the virus software identified?
Usually it would output a list of some kind.

I'm just messin' around, :). I don't even have a Mini VCI, I'm just poking fun at it and making the observation that most pirated software that is sold at a 90% discount has some "trade-offs" in security.

BS. You're local to me. Would you like to see my virus free copy? There are multiple sources for virus-free software.

Just because anti-virus programs flag cracked software as a "virus" doesn't mean it's a virus.

I've been on here for about 8 months, and I haven't read an account where a purchase in that time period resulted in a virus.
