    Me and my friends used to gamble our student loans on the stock market. One guy quit after losing $6K on Enron. Man, I should have kept that AWA stock.... :cry:

    @andino
    Keep an eye on the auctions, you might be able to score some cheaper.

    As my wedding approaches and house hunting begins... I have to be careful what I mod as we're on a budget. Any car modding can "set her off", which is understandable. @Gaspeed is the only one at the moment who knows the actual #secretstuff. But will be put on hold for now for obvious financial obligations. :ROFLMAO:

    But for this Summer, my plan is to go incognito with my mods. No Instagram posts where she can see it :cautious: So to start the Summer mods, my plan is to mod things she would barely notice... starting with this... can anyone guess?

    You may be able to reuse the stock baffle if you replace with the same size speakers. If you use round speakers, you will need new baffles. I think Metra makes one for the Prius, but you can make a cheaper and more effective (higher mass) baffle yourself pretty easily. Get some 3/4" MDF, trace the stock baffle outline and mounting points, cut out with a jigsaw or bandsaw, paint with truck bedliner or undercoating, mount with stainless bolts, washers, and lock nuts. Here's mine, with a 6.5" woofer and 3" midbass (yes, they both fit in the stock 6x9" space!):

    I've also sealed up all the holes in the door panel with acrylic sheet, dampened with Damplifier sheet, non-hardening modeling clay around the baffle, and have a sandwich of jute and mass-loaded vinyl under the door card (not shown). With the sealing and clay, especially, midbass response improved significantly.

    Today went crazy with the sticky felt. Got tired of things sliding in the top glove compartment, plus it looks oem ish. Paid my respects to Rudolph as well :) 1464462482812.jpg 1464462501346.jpg
