On my way north today, I stopped at a small family run auto dealer in Myerstown PA. Folks, these guys Know EVs and Hybrids. There were easily half a dozen Volts, too many Priii to count, so many Leafs I thought it was Fall. They had four or five Fusion hybrids & Energi as well. The 'big News' is that they had two CMax Energi and several straight Hybrid CMaxes.
I stopped by unannounced, they were gracious, put me right in an Energi SEL , put a plate on it & sent me on a test drive. I didn't abuse their hospitality, got a good idea of how the CMax runs, and quickly Sussed out the hybrid display and whatnot. I was impressed with the pickup off the line in straight EV, more so when the ICE kicked in! I even unintentionally laid rubber!

I fit with room to spare, not just headroom, but leg room! I could stretch out my legs the seat went back so far!! There are full size pickup trucks that I can't do that in!

I'm hooked & when the time comes I'll be talking with Wilmer at Brubakers in Myerstown. They're old school... No email , but I located them via cars.com. If you're near southeastern PA near Lebanon... And looking for an EV, they've got them all.

If you have the VIN, you can check out a lot of stuff about it here: FordEtis home page Click on the vehicle tab and load the VIN into the database.

I'm hooked on the model, not necessarily that car. I still have to line up things with my bank etc...

Unlike the hybrid, the energi only comes in the upper SEL trim. Just like the current 2016 web page, they were available with three option packages: 301,302, or 303. The panoroof is available separately.

Judging by your picture, that one is the base 300 package (no sony stereo). You can use that ford link to figure out what package the car has as many used car dealers don't have a clue. You can visually ID the 303 level because it has the sonar circles on both the front and rear bumpers. I strongly suggest a 302 or 303 package. The handsfree lift gate may sound frivolous but in reality is an awesome feature.

Thanks foto! I'll keep that in mind when my search gets more serious. If that's the 'lesser' package it was pretty well optioned out for me!

I could see the foot operated hatch being useful!

What time frame are you thinking on these 'new' models?

The C-max and current Fusion came out in the 2013 model year. It is going to be at least another year before we can expect to start hearing anything about the next generation.

The C-max is an odd duck. It was available in Europe as an ICE for awhile. It might be hybrid only in the US, but is really just a hybrid conversion. Then it has the stigma for Ford's MPG labeling. So it is unknown whether bring out a new one or not.

There are rumors of a dedicated hybrid and PHEV model, Ford sources leak plans for all-new hybrid with plug-in variant - Torque News

As to used C-max prices, the car's depreciation should reflect the the incentives that new ones get, as with all plug ins.

I'm 'ok' with a used vehicle ... And the prices for the Energis I'm seeing seem reasonable. I'm not concerned with wringing every possible mile out of a gallon of gas. as much fun as hypermileing can be, I'm not worried about the mileage discrepancy. I'm really pleased with the roomy cabin, first small car I've been in since my Suzuki Swift where I had more than ample legroom! I'm in no rush, but I like to do my research, then buy once I have a good handle on things. thank you all for chiming in & I hope to hear more .
I won't be waiting for an entire new model, from the sounds of it, Elon will get the model 3 to production sooner!

...of course NY has a new $2000 plug-in incentive... I assume must be a new vehicle but not sure...that would be on top Fed incentive on a new CMaxE

Which could be used to haggle the price on used lower.
