Got my new Prius

    I am thrilled with my new silver package 7 w/leather. Picked it up yesterday after only a 3 week wait. Traded in my 2005 double cab Tundra and got a real good trade-in, plus 500 off msrp. I really wanted package 8 but there wasn't one to be had in the Southeast region. They tried, so they gave me the 7 price and added leather for under 800.00.

    Has anyone gotten the leather armrests from the ebay Prius Store? Wondering how hard it is to install? I also want to buy the center leather console cover. Not real mechanical at my age.

    I love the navigation system and am slowly figuring out how it works. I have saved my home address but when I go and press destination a flag comes up where I thought a house should be. When I press the flag it does show my home address.

    Also, the AUX in the center console, is that for an mp3 player, if so what kind of plug goes in there?

    Somewhere in the navigation book it tells you how to change the icons for your saved locations. The nav system is great! Went to Tampa and back last week and it was so cool not to have to keep looking at the map or expecting my mom to read off directions. (Unfortunately, her navigation skills have declined as she's gotten older.) The nav system did send us the long way around the block to reach our hotel...I think it has a problem saying turn left across a busy road....turned left at a signal, circled the block and entered the hotel on a right turn. You're gonna love the car...I've had mine about 3 weeks and the MPG keep improving as I'm re-learning how to drive.

    Thanks for the info Marie. I was able to change the icon. Now to figure out how to make the nav system take the route you want instead of the one it comes up with. I remember reading something about it in the book, guess I will have to get the book out again and reread this stuff. I did get my mp3 player to work through the radio. Doesn't really sound that great, but it might be my wire.

    I am still working on my first tank of gas and learning how to drive it. I never reset the average from when I picked it up so don't know how accurate it really is. So far with about 110 miles my gas indicator is down one light and I am averaging 38.5mpg. I am sure it will climb.

    I'm new to this too. Apparently the average resets itself when you fill it up. Don't understand that.
    I'm getting mid 40's intown with some highway - had a higher average when I had more highway.Still learning.

    Your last post was a few weeks ago, so perhaps you already know this: When you fill up and you want the computer to start calculating your average for this new tank of gas, you have to click the "reset" button on your screen (l'm not looking at my book and it's 3:20am so I'm a bit loopy and could have the word wrong). I believe it is the screen where you can see the flow of your energy (look in the lower right of the screen).

    Anyway, Prelector mentioned he had a Package 7 with leather. I've got the same thing, but it's called a package #8 here in Utah. What is in the Package 8 that Prelector wanted but didn't get?

    I have leather, the Nav system, the 6-CD JBL sound system, bluetooth compatibility, etc.
