One Bar Blinking

    12k miles on my Prius now......
    Every tank-full....when I hear the signal indicating one bar blinking......I reset my trip meter and usually drive another 40 miles.....

    My latest tank.....506 miles and I'm down to my the bar blinking (12 miles logged on the blinking bar) .......I decided I needed to stop for gas............ but I only had $7.85 (at $3.17/gal). I added the 2.5 gallons of gas....hit the mileage reset and drove off.

    I'm shocked that the dam bar is still blinking :blink:

    Yup, per the manual you must add a minimum of 4 gallons before you'll see a reset.

    You mean you actually go inside and pay cash for your gas?

    How do you own a $25K+ car and not have a credit card?

    I don't know about others, but most stations in the Northwest have automated machines that take $$ bills on the fueling island. If you don't fill that much, then you have to go in for change.

    Consider.....if you pay with a card at Arco Gas stations...they charge you an extra $0.45
    I figure I'm already paying them enough.

    I wonder how they get away with this... most terms of service agreements with the CC companies stipulate that a business cannot charge more for the same product simply because the customer chooses to pay with a credit card. Businesses are free to require a minimum purchase before they accept the card (to help make the processing fee/% worth their while), but they're usually forbidden to penalize the customer simply for their choice of payment method.

    Then again, I'm not a lawyer. Better Business Bureau, anyone?

    When you go to ARCO and pay with a card it is a ATM card and not a credit card, that is why they can charge you a procesing fee. It is like you went to another bank and got $ out of the machine. ARCO does not accept credit cards.
