Is it possible to program the '06 Prius so all four doors open on the first click of the key fob or when you touch the door in a keyless entry system? If so, how is it done. I remember reading in this forum about doing this, but was recently told by a Toyota Dealership Technician that this could not be done on an '06.
    Has anybody done this?

There are instructions in the manual.

I agree there are instuctions in the manual and I have an '06 and I have done it following those instructions. I don't remember them off hand though.

I've done it as well on an '06. You need to hold down certain keys on your remote "key."

As others have said, look it up in the manual!

Likewise. The frist time I tried I didn't get it right. But now I have all 4 doors unlocking at the same time. You can do it.

As everyone else has said, it is in the manual but I have forgotten the page. Basically there are I believe four variations in un-lock with the fob. You cycle through them by holding down the "panic" button and either the "lock or unlock" button. If you read the manual and follow the instructions, it works like "clock-work"! If you cannot find it or would like help, PM me and I will help you through it.

Thanks all. It was in the manual as everyone but the Toyota technician knew. You hold down the panic button for five seconds while you press the lock button and bingo, all four doors now unlock when I touch the door.

I need help . . . please!!! I've read the manual and it still is not working for me. The alarm keeps going off. Which LOCK button am I to hold down? The one on the door? or the one on the fob?

    Thanks!!!

It is on page 32 of the 2006 manual. You hold down the lock and panic buttons on the key fob for 5 seconds and you will hear beeps. You may have to do it more than once since it cycles through settings each time you do it. The manual tells what the beeps sound like for what you are doing.

I've gotten in the habit now, when I want all doors to unlock, to quickly depress the hatchback release. It won't unlock the hatchback if you do it quickly, but it does unlock all four doors. That leaves me the ability to only have the driver's door unlock when I touch it (default behavior). After I discovered this 'trick', I didn't bother trying to reset behavior of the car...and I suppose in the very rare circumstance that I don't actually want all the doors to unlock when I unlock the driver's door, I'm still set...
