downloading phone book

    Prius delivered on Thursday. Was able to connect to phone but unable to download phonebook. When trying to transfer, bluetooth disconnects but screen on vehicle says transfer is in progress. Can you help? Phone is motorola E815.

    Verizon disables the phone book transfer feature on its phones.

    Yes, as mentioned above, Verizon loves to disable BT features on the phones. Pushing over the whole phonebook at once is unfortunately one of them.

    I think for your phone you can push over the contacts one at a time.

    What you have to do is:
    - Go into "Settings" from the Phone screen on your Prius' MFD (the screen where you have the dialpad)
    - Hit "Transfer Data", "Add to...whichever group you choose", and then the Prius will say something along the lines of "Waiting for transfer. Transfer from your phone".
    - That is when you go to your cell phone, go to the contact you want to send over, go to options, then look for an option along the lines of "Send Contact through Bluetooth" and then select the paired device to send it to (in this case, the Prius, which shows up as "Handsfree" as default I believe).

    Of course in a 2006 you could just enter the contacts in manually straight to the car :)

    Verizon Motorola e815 cannot transfer phone contacts period--including the hacked version.
