I've Toyota Prius 2008 GLI with just one smart key.
    the case started to flake.
I've ordered New Keyless Smart Remote Key Shell Case Fob 2 Button for Toyota Prius 2004-2009
I saw couple posts and videos about the replacement of the battery but not the whole case. I know that's the difficult step is to take out the transponder and put it in the new case.
do you think that I can do it by myself? or it just don't worth the risk of damage the only key i have.

    thank!

If you have the proper case, it shouldn't be too difficult. Of course, the fact that you have only one fob makes it even more high risk that you do it properly. ;)

Be sure to transfer the transponder chip as well as the circuit board. The Gen2 keyfob can be opened by expanding a needle nosed pliers in the mechanical key space. You have to break the glue seal.
