Mine was due to faulty compressor from factory most likely Toyota commented. The compressor still works but sent metal shavings through to condensor and plugged it up. I also had a tacoma that had a bad stereo manufacurer. I had 5 replaced in less than 3 months! Toyota should stand behind their vehicles & make it's parts manufacturers do the same. But hey, thats how toyota keeps making money.

i give them some but I asked why can't you get a hold of compressor manufacturer & insist on giving me a free replacement compressor & I'd take care of rest? I mean they should stand behind their quality & parts that are put into it.

Do you have the corporate number easily accessible? A friend of a friend had their AC go out on a 4 year old Prius with 30k miles on it, and has been quoted $2000 to repair it.

Maybe Toyota will do all of us 2011 owners a treat and compensate us for our losses. It was almost a year ago that my compressor went out. I was lucky and found a used part, but the bill still came to ~$1400. I hope they take notice of this apparent high failure rate. Most are out of warranty but still.

No problem, I think the owner found their number. I thought there was a special direct line that Priuschat members secretly knew about :D
