If he were really secure and feeling good about his selection of an Expedition, I doubt much that he'd be posting here on PriusChat.

Oh c'mon, don't you recognize our favorite GM troll? This time, he's "disguised" himself as a Ford kind o' guy. If the moderators will do some checking, maybe we'll find out for sure but it's looking like you-know-who is back with a new username  Should have been a little more clever, though, call yourself ExSturgeon with a picture of the Ford Valdez

Good idea! Oh wait, who helps design FORD's? MAZDA!

Ford parts come from Canada and Mexico and Japan.

Oh and by the way...many, many Toyotas are made in the US. In fact, I am pretty sure I heard that more Toyotas are assembled in the US then Fords!

DH's camry: built in KY by Americans! ;)

major discussion is going on about building the prius in the US too.

ford is sending billions to CHINA, millions to THAILAND, producing their vehicles in spain, mexico, china, and to a lesser extent, the US.

toyota is sending billions to the US, producing a large majority of their american market vehicles right here at home.

so how is supporting ford, supporting america? sounds like giving money to ford is as good as giving money to china...

On the contrary. We took some action today in the U.S. to ensure that our quality lives up to the expectations held by our Prius owners--Announcing a voluntary Special Service Campaign for 170K Prius. TMS USA has added a topic discussion in the main forum with a little more info.

    Thanks.

The recall seems to only address cars up to 2005... So would I cancel an order for a later model 2006? Probably not. Besides, this is a proactive reacall. No one has been injured or killed by the defect.

Doesn't affect after Nov. 2005 Prius. Stay the course, you're fine.

According to the Associated Press, 986,000 vehicles are affected across 10 models and more than half of all of those vehicles are in the Japanese market. In the U.S., 170,000 Prii are being recalled.

"In Japan, the recall involves a total of 565,756 vehicles manufactured under the Wish, Isis, Prius, Corolla, Corolla Runx, Corolla Fielder, Corolla Spacio, Allex and Ractis brands between September 2002 and November 2005, according to the statement.
"The number in Japan included more than 300,000 Wish cars and more than 113,000 Prius cars.
"Toyota spokesman Bill Kwong said the recall involved about 240,000 vehicles in Europe, including the Prius, Corolla and Avensis. An additional 10,000 vehicles were being recalled in other parts of the world, including China and New Zealand, he said."

And yet, even though the Prius is only part of the recall, NBC this morning ran a report on it and showed only Prii but neglected to acknowledge that any other model was involved or that most of those affected are in Japan and Europe. They also failed to report the issue thoroughly. What a surprise eh?

Not pointless: we know that he's wrong because his attitude threatens both our nation and our world.

Actually, that one would be Firestone, not Ford.

    People people people.
Most of you are smart enough to know that you should avoid this stuff.
Most of you too busy to dedicate any of your time to this stuff.

There are names for those who like to stir things up but likewise there are names for those who are easily stirred up.

As you walk the streets of life, you will pass those people who are carrying on conversations with people in their heads absolutely convinced that they know what's right and what's best. Whatever you do, don't talk back to them!

I thought it's the poor front end/suspension design of "the good ol' exploder" (quote from Marlin) and wrong tire pressure recommendation from Ford that caused problem. Feel sorry for firestone.

Except the tire recall was for specific tires manufactured at certain factories during certain periods of time. I had an Explorer whose tires were affected by the recall. But only two of my tires, because by the time of the recall, I had already replaced two of my tires with the same brand and make of tire that came stock on the Explorer. My original tires qualified for the recall (by Firestone, not Ford), yet my newer tires (of the same brand and make) did not.

Sometimes though it is just fun to come out with attitude and considering the fact that we can win these arguments with one hand tied behind our backs just makes the crabbing all that much more fun!
